It’s not unusual to see weapons added in a new installment, as Destiny fans are aware. Creating a new installment does come with certain expectations, after all. However, those expectations can persist when the game is expected to update over time. The Monster Hunter franchise is in a similar boat, with new content coming after the launch of most entries, and in recent cases at least one major expansion. However, Monster Hunter hasn’t added a new weapon to its mainline entries in almost ten years....

Much like regular Crucible Control, Iron Banner pits two teams of six players against each other in a fight for control over three objectives. Although Iron Banner has some extra rules that make the mode more competitive and encourages teams to be more cooperative in their objective play. This time around Telesto has been disabled in Crucible and Gambit because of a game-breaking exploit. When a player is in Destiny 2’s director, a full-size map of Europa will be shown. Areas such as Cadmus Ridge, Asterion Abyss, Eventide Ruins, Beyond, and Charon’s Crossing are able to be explored without traversing into the depths of each one. At the launch of Beyond Light, only one landing zone was available, which was located in Charon’s Crossing. Variks, the planet’s vendor, is located there. Similar to the Dreaming City location from the Forsaken expansion, it takes a good amount of time to get from one end on a sparrow to the other, since only one landing zone is available there as well....

Pretty much every shotgun in Destiny can kill in one shot if the wielder gets up close. So the stat that usually determines which ones are better than others is range: the farther the gun can shoot without losing damage, the better. The Mindbender’s Ambition shotgun, for instance, currently reigns supreme in Destiny 2’s meta because of this. It has long been rumored that Thorn would return in Destiny 2 as part of Season of the Drifter because of the lore and story implications related to The Drifter and his ties to Dredgen Yor, the original owner of the Thorn exotic. While the trailer does not outright show the Thorn itself, the unmistakable spike rounds that Thorn shoots make it completely clear that it’s coming, not to mention the fact that the Thorn has always been tied in Destiny’s lore to The Last Word....

Dares of Eternity is the new 6 player activity available to all Destiny 2 players, regardless of whether they purchased the 30th Anniversary pack or not. In it, players are abducted to a realm in unknown space by everyone’s favorite peddler of exotic wares, Xur, and an eternal equine, Starhorse. One of those features that didn’t make the jump is private matches. However, after a month or so of wondering why, Bungie finally tells fans that it is working on private matches for Destiny 2, with an expected launch date of early 2018. This week, Bungie shared a preview of what it is working on for Destiny 2, all of them being an answer to feedback received from fans. While it looks like private matches will miss the launch window of the game’s Season 2 and the first major expansion, Curse of Osiris, if all goes right it will be added to the game in its own update in a timeframe shortly after the new year....

To unlock the final Seed of Light, players will need to speak to Petra Venj in the Dreaming City and pick up the Gateway Between Worlds weekly bounty. It will be the one that awards players with the Offering to the Oracle. Once players play enough of the Blind Well, the bounty will be complete. Playing higher Tiers of the Blind Well will fill up progression faster. Once players obtain the Offering, they should venture over to the Oracle Engine to present the Offering....

The overall look of the Season 2 armor ornaments and weapons ins Destiny 2 have shifted things to more of a silver motif, as opposed to the green and gold of Season 1. Tasks to complete in order to unlock an ornament include: Earning Iron Banner reward engrams Defeating enemies in Iron Banner games Completing daily Iron Banner milestones Getting grenade and melee kills in Iron Banner Winning Iron Banner matches...

On Reddit, one Destiny 2 player shared a screenshot of what appears to be a brand new jumpship. The main body of the ship is black, with metallic fixtures on its sides. The jumpship also has a fairly intricate design on top, as it has several white tendrils going right across its body. The design is similar to the SIVA nanotechnology that featured in the first game, albeit these tendrils are white and SIVA is a deep red....

Developer Bungie often calls Trials of Osiris the raid of PvP, but instead of fighting a raid boss, other players are the raid boss. It is the most competitive PvP playlist in Destiny 2, as players compete to not only win but to earn exclusive loot. The playlist is Power-enabled, so level advantages will come into play, with more powerful players dealing more damage and taking less of it from opponents....

This week, Destiny 2 players can find Xur on Nessus, the colorful destination with a red and green hue. Xur’s Nessus hiding spot should be plenty familiar to most by now, since it was the first place he ever set up shop in Destiny 2. But, if you’re having a little trouble finding him, head to the Watcher’s Grave area and look up. Xur’s exotic armor selection this week includes the Foetracer helmet for Hunters, the Peacekeepers boots for Titans, and the Eye of Another World helmet for Warlocks....

In addition to Xur and his new job as a quasi-game show host in the Dares of Eternity activity, players have been experiencing the sweeping changes made by the update. Cooldown timers have been tweaked, class abilities balanced, weapons modified, and tons more. In fact, those willing to spend a little more on the Anniversary DLC Pack have been able to experience a new Dungeon based on the infamous loot cave of the original Destiny as well as some returning fan favorite weapons like Gjallarhorn....
