This seasonal approach was the topic of an article by the Daily Star this week, wherein the publication talked with Bungie about its split from Activision last year. They touched upon how the studio has experimented with telling ongoing stories across multiple seasons with Destiny 2’s last two seasons, Season of the Undying and the ongoing Season of Dawn. Without divulging any spoilers, producer Rachel Levine teased that Bungie is going to continue experimenting and is “excited to pursue different avenues of the story in the future....

This Tweet comes just days after Activision announced that Destiny 2 was not meeting its sales expectations, specifically in regard to player core engagement. While Forsaken did bring many players back and reinforced the hobby of the game, that apparently was not enough for Activision. However, according to Smith, the Bungie team is proud of what they put out in Forsaken. Smith went on to say that the team will continue to focus on building Destiny for those who love it, which should make many dedicated fans happy....

Content creator Ehroar gave the bugged weapon a breakdown in a Destiny 2 gameplay video released Thursday. The individual arrows shot from the bow appear to deal triple damage from extra hits registering on each shot, causing the bow’s damage output to multiply far beyond the intended amount. Bungie is soon releasing a new DLC for Destiny 2, called the 30th Anniversary Pack, and next year it will be the turn of the next expansion: The Witch Queen. There is a lot of content in the game now, even when seasonal missions and activities eventually go away and more things enter the Destiny Content Vault, and Destiny 2’s storyline is reaching incredible heights that will likely only improve with The Witch Queen’s release....

Reports began appearing online earlier this week following the Season of the Worthy update for Destiny 2. Players would frequently get kicked from a match and sent back to orbit or suddenly win the match when the enemy team suddenly disconnected. Many players assumed it was due to things like a spotty internet connections or even server troubles related to the recent update. However, the root cause appears to have been found and the results are fairly alarming....

One of the ways that Destiny 2 will streamline the process for players is through the progression system. As revealed be Project Lead Mark Noseworthy, Destiny 2 will be able to calculate a player’s best possible loadout when decrypting engrams and give them gear based on that light level. Taking to Twitter to discuss Iron Banner feedback, Destiny 2 Crucible lead, Derek Carroll, confirmed that the matchmaking isn’t behaving quite as most people expect. While fireteams are having little difficulty, solo players are getting overlooked when matching opponents, meaning that these players are getting put up against coordinated teams, rather than other solo individuals. More often than not, the end result is solo players getting crushed or losing matches more consistently....

As the game gets closer to entering its third year, we look back at armor sets tied to each season’s signature activity or event that have come to Destiny 2 and countdown, from worst to best. 7 7. Season 2: Mercury Curse of Osiris is considered by many to be the worst expansion and season of Destiny 2, so it should not be too much of a surprise that the seasonal armor, which was tied to the Mercury destination, sits as the worst on this list....

This makes their possible deaths predictable, but they would also play a key role in Destiny 2’s story. The loss of either or both characters would have profound impacts on the others in Destiny 2, and the player community. Their deaths would be a major driving force for the game’s new campaign in The Witch Queen, and the absence of Crow or Osiris from the cast would likely have a ripple effect comparable to the loss of Cayde-6 in Forsaken....

This isn’t the first time players had encountered a new difficulty for Lost Sectors. Back in Season of the Worthy, Destiny 2 had also introduced Legendary Lost Sectors, not to be confused with the Legend difficulty available right now. The current model seems to be a refinement of that system and has been received well so far. Guardians seeking to get the Bound Manacle will have to complete a few tasks in the questline beforehand. First, Destiny 2 players will need to locate the Essence of Insanity which can be found on the moon. Gamers may get lucky and find the Essence in a loot box, but that is unlikely. Where is Xur? With the weekly Flashpoint milestone located on the Warmind DLC planet Mars, Xur has once again taken up residence within the Tower. The merchant can be found hanging out behind Dead Orbit’s Arach Jalaal on a small catwalk. After loading into The Tower, head left and follow the path into the hangar. Stay on the ground level, run left past Jalaal’s Dead Orbit area, and find a set of starts towards the back overlooking the edge....

The ability to explore the depths of Venus once more has been teased by Bungie for a while now, but now it is confirmed that Destiny 2 players will get their chance this summer in Season 14. The developer claims the experience will be mostly the same as players remember, but with changes to bring it up to the current Destiny 2 raid standards. Part of this is making Vault of Glass more challenging since Guardians are much stronger now....

Lost Sectors are one of Destiny 2’s exciting new features, part of Bungie’s reworking of open world environments. Bungie has described them as hidden side-missions within the open world that players can discover, explore, fight a boss, and be rewarded. It’s unclear, however, whether or not Lost Sectors will be one-and-done events, or if they can be completed multiple times. The news that Lost Sectors are not procedurally generated lends itself to the one-and-done assumption....

The most notable items in the Prismatic Matrix this week are two exotic items, the Eon Drive sparrow and the Positive Infinity weapon ornament for the Worldline Zero exotic sword. Players can earn the fancy new sword by chasing after the lost memory fragments scattered throughout Mars. The Eon Drive also ties into Mars, as it seems to be a prototype of the sparrow players receive for finding all the memory fragments....

In the new video, Destiny 2: Forsaken’s Senior Sandbox Designer Claude Jerome not only describes what’s possible with each new subclass branch, but also shares some of the goals behind their implementation. The very first point addressed is why Bungie is introducing so many new branches and abilities with Forsaken. According to Jerome, it boils down to players identifying with their favorite subclasses. Adding a completely new subclass is all well and good, but it doesn’t really do much for those who like to specialize in one subclass or another....

Guardian Games is Destiny 2’s annual spring event. The game has cycled through different spring events over the years, but Bungie seems to have settled on Guardian Games for the foreseeable future. Last year, the event pitted the game’s three character classes against each other in an Olympics-themed tournament, and the victor got to enjoy a golden class item for the rest of the year. The good news for Destiny 2 players is that vault space is increasing for the first time. Starting with the Warmind DLC, players’ vaults will jump from holding 200 items to 300 items. 100 extra items is a good start for Destiny 2, but players will likely fill up the space fast. 200 items was already pushing it with the Curse of Osiris DLC rewards and the new Nightfall rewards, and Warmind will soon add several new sets of armor and weapons as well....
