One Destiny 2 fireteam set out to answer that very question, as three players entered the Prestige version of Pleasure Gardens to test out their grenades. Since the war beasts have a lot of health and stand still, they provide an easy test subject for calculating damage without a lot of variables. Even so, the fireteam noticed “some variance” as a result of “grenade behavior/placement randomness and/or wall/tree obstruction,” but they were able to tally up how much each grenade deals....

Previously, the Whisper of the Worm quest was only available in Destiny 2 each week from 10 a.m. Pacific on Friday to 10 a.m. Pacific on Monday. In addition, players had to wait specifically for the Taken Blight public event in the Lost Oasis region of Io. As revealed in a new trailer, the quest can now be accessed any day of the week with any public event in the Lost Oasis region....

In addition to Felwtiner’s Lie, Bungie is adjusting Aggressive Frame Hand Cannons like Igneous Hammer and True Prophecy. These 120 RPM weapons have quickly become a favorite pick for PvP players, so much so that Bungie felt the need to intervene and make adjustments. In season 14, Bungie is tweaking the damage and aim assist falloff distance, reducing it between 2 and 4 meters. Essentially, this halves the buff these weapons received when Beyond Light launched and effectively cancels out on of their primary draws in the first place....

While Gambit did get a dedicated season of content which added a new variant mode called Gambit Prime, the experience has largely been left as is, without much in the way of new content and maps. This stagnation has left many fans underwhelmed and asking for a Gambit shakeup to reinvigorate the gameplay. With Season of the Risen, Bungie has started to refine the mode, adding a number of changes which so far have left most players with mixed reactions....

As expected, this year’s Solstice of Heroes will once again see Destiny 2 players taking broken armor and upgrading it, through various challenges and tasks, over the course of the event. The armor gets an impressive visual upgrade as each quality level is reached, but unlike last year, the armor will still be viable once Shadowkeep launches, as it will be the first set of gear to utilize the new Armor 2....

Season of the Hunt is ending, bringing in a new season, Season of the Chosen. The upcoming Season of the Chosen will be launching on Tuesday, February 9, 2021. As with every seasonal launch or major update in Destiny 2, Guardians can expect some maintenance surrounding the weekly reset on Tuesday, February 9, as well as Update 3.1.0. Instead the mode and map will rotate on a weekly basis, with this week featuring the Countdown mode and the new map Eternity....

With that in mind, part of spec’ing the perfect set of armor in Destiny 2 is not only about the perk and stat rolls that players are able to get from RNG, but also pairing armor mods to get the most out of a build. At this point this close to the release of Shadowkeep, this is likely to most benefit players who want to do the Garden of Salvation raid on day one of its release....

In light of this major change coming to Destiny 2, a similar “Weapons 2.0” with a similar focus on investment rather than RNG would be a great addition to the game. Unfortunately, Bungie recently said that it is not working on a Weapons 2.0 system anytime soon without ruling out the possibility it could come to the game at some point. But, there’s a way that a Weapons 2.0 system could work and why it really needs to happen....

Even the Stasis debate that occurred over the past few months demonstrates how Destiny 2 has a PvP issue. Bungie nerfed Stasis on account of PvP, and this had repercussions on PvE. This started a new debate in return, one about whether or not Bungie should permanently separate Destiny 2’s PvE and PvP in a way that allows the studio to do whatever it wants with each sandbox without worrying about affecting the other....

Bungie continues to tease content within the next season, giving players a look at the upcoming sword overhaul last week and a few community inspired changes yesterday in the weekly update. Previous seasonal restrictions and frustrations are being adjusted including armor affinity being able to be changed for a cost as well as seasonal mods being able to be used on new and old armor from previous seasons. Next month, players will still be able to utilize Undying and Dawn mods if they so choose....

In the meantime, players continue to debate the upcoming ability and subclass changes inside of the December update. Many appear to be upset for different reasons, most of which centers on the Hunters. While non-Hunter players are happy with the Shatterdive changes, many are a little upset that the Flux Grenade from the Arcstrider loadout can one-shot players if the grenade is stuck. With the removal of Shoulder Charge and Handheld Supernova one-shot kills, there are plenty who find this change a bit upsetting....

Kicking off next week, Festival of the Lost will be bringing that spooky vibe back to the Tower. Naturally, players will be collecting candy while participating in specialized events and what many believe will be the return of weapons like Horror Story, Braytech Werewolf, and last year’s pulse rifle called Jurassic Green. However, for many players, the real draw this year is the community voted armor ornaments styled after anime mechs like Voltron, Gundam, and others....

With The Witch Queen, Destiny 2 players will have to say goodbye to the Tangled Shore and the Forsaken campaign, as well as all seasonal content from Year 4 - including missions like Harbinger and Presage. Now that the 30th Anniversary Pack has been released, players were already wondering what would happen to it further down the line and if its contents would stay for at least a full year before being vaulted....

Gathering info from numerous tweets from these content creators, apparently the goal of this “summit,” as it’s being called, is for Bungie to get feedback from these particular players, both positive and negative, so that the developers can work to make Destiny 2 a better game....
