It may be a short story mission, but Homecoming has offered a lot of info for Destiny 2 hopefuls to digest, especially those that have a longstanding relationship with the series. But there is one small Easter Egg that we noticed while exploring the Tower area in Homecoming that could be quite upsetting for some. Some may have already noticed it, but the attack on the Tower in the Homecoming mission features plenty of casualties, but the one that stood out to us is our good buddy, the purple ball....

As seen in the image below from the Guardian and Redditor known as Enderphor, the Destiny 2 fan’s painting hand did a wonderful job at ensuring all of the line work present on the barrel and handle of the gun really stands out. Not to mention, the integrity of the stainless steel finish on the top and underside of the weapon looks nice and clean overall, as it works as a fantastic contrast to the red and black coloring, bringing the whole firearm’s design into relief....

Now that Gafner is stepping down as a Destiny 2 community manager, he has had the opportunity to discuss some of the things he’s experienced during his tenure at Bungie, and he’s done so in a candid interview. Though mainly positive about his former job, dmg04 didn’t mince any words when it came to explaining how important mental health is, providing valuable advice to other community managers and beyond....

Each week, the Heroic Strike playlist receives a weekly Singe modifier that is persistent until the next weekly reset in Destiny 2. This increases incoming and outgoing damage of a particular elemental type. In addition, two more modifiers—one which provides the player with an advantage, and another that adds a disadvantage—refresh each day. This is despite the fact that Destiny 2’s Season of Dawn has been on-going since December 10, and Empyrean Foundation didn’t start until February 4. While leveling in and of itself is a worthy goal for players in Destiny 2, most are raising their power level so fast and in such a short amount of time because they want to be as ready for the Leviathan raid as possible. No one knows what the raid will require of players, and so any extra bit of power is sure to go a long way. Since Bungie revealed that it has no plans to tease or even talk about Leviathan before it launches on Wednesday, there is an extra air of mystery to the raid....

For those unfamiliar with the original Destiny, Vault of Glass was the first ever raid in both the game and the franchise as a whole, so its return to Destiny 2 is something of a big deal. This raid sees players face off against the Vex and attempt to stop the time bending Atheon. During the second week of the revamped Trials, Bungie introduced the flawless matchmaking pool to the activity. This pool put all players who went flawless on a given weekend into a separate matchmaking pool, in which they would be matched only (when possible) with other players who had also gone flawless that weekend. This meant that even if players reset their cards after going flawless, the matchmaking system would continue to pair them up only with others who went flawless....

First off, the biggest fear for a lot of players when it was leaked that Crimson Days was coming back was that it would have a large focus on microtransactions and the Eververse Store, much like The Dawning did in December. But Crimson Days looks like it will play out very differently. Bungie promises that Crimson Engrams, which contain event-specific rewards, will be only earnable through actually playing the game, not from buying them through Eververse....

First up, Destiny 2 is changing how damage displays to players. The numbers that pop up in the UI when a player damages an enemy have been crunched down and recalibrated. Now the damage numbers will display with fewer digits, which Bungie hopes will be more readable for players as well as avoid cases where player damage could be so high that it would simply display as a 999,999 damage number....

In the March 4 This Week at Bungie, the studio opened up the first ever community vote on what armor Ornaments the community would like to obtain for the upcoming Festival of the Lost. Showcasing both a Movie Monsters and a Dinosaur themed armor Ornament set, Bungie allowed Guardians to vote on their favorite to be released during Festival of the Lost, causing #TeamMonsters and #TeamDinosaurs to become trending on Twitter....

While the patent never mentioned any specific games, some wondered whether it was currently active in any Activision-published titles, like Destiny 2. However, it wasn’t long before Bungie set the record straight and confirmed that the matchmaking algorithms in question do not appear in any Destiny game: The predatory feeling of a matchmaking system that is out to get players to sink more money into a game via microtransactions definitely leaves a bad taste in gamers’ mouths....

Still, Bungie did reveal a couple of changes to those weapons, making Celerity and Bottomless Grief available as a perk option for players to select. Still, Bungie admitted that it was satisfied with either perk as the trigger conditions rely on failure which doesn’t always feel great for the last player standing. This admission triggered a thought in one player for another overlooked exotic item that has a similar function....

As the name suggests, the bonus content is all themed around Cayde-6, one of the fan favorite characters of the franchise who meets his doom at the start of the campaign of Destiny 2: Forsaken. The exotic ornament that players will get as part of Cayde’s Stash is for the Ace of Spades, Cayde’s personal hand cannon. In the story trailer for Forsaken, the DLC’s villain, Prince Uldren uses the Ace of Spades to kill Cayde-6....

The gameplay trailer mainly takes place within the Witch Queen’s throne world, where powerful entities like herself make the rules. Not only will Guardians need to navigate this dangerous new area, but Savathun has also somehow harnessed the Light, and is using it to create her own Hive Guardians. This creates a slew of new problems for humanity, so to combat this threat, a new glaive weapon is being introduced....

Thus, it’s not uncommon for Destiny 2 players to experience epic moments where a handful of Supers can change the course of the game - at least for a while. These tales are some of the most cherished among the community, as well as those moments where players have a lot of fun alone or together, especially if something special happens in very hard activities like Grandmaster Nightfall Strikes or Raids....

In an interview posted to the Chinese website GameCores, Destiny 2’s Production Director Justin Truman spoke on the direction Bungie is heading with Beyond Light, and where the series is going in the long run. He speaks about Eramis, the Fallen leader who is the main villain for Beyond Light, and how she gains Darkness powers to try to take down the Guardians, as well as what is next for Season of Arrivals and the future expansions of the game....
