According to Bungie, the Crucible and other activities in Destiny 2 were being plagued by “longer than usual matchmaking times”, so the latest fix should have reduced the wait by a significant margin. This particular fix should be hailed by most Guardians, but some may not be too keen to learn that skill-based matchmaking in PvP Quickplay is still disabled, as a decent argument can be made that it has the potential to hinder new players’ accessibility to the game....

As in previous years, the latest Solstice has been offering players new challenges to take on and new armor to upgrade while they go. So far, though, there have been a few issues with Solstice of Heroes that have disappointed players, the most problematic being that one of the weekly challenges in the European Aerial Zone was bugged. Before it was disabled by Bungie, the event wasn’t giving out Powerful gear at the end like it should, leaving players without their high-tier rewards....

One major complaint about Destiny 2 Guided Games is that some Guides just aren’t using the feature as intended. Seekers (those looking for a fireteam) are complaining that Guides (fireteams looking for one more player) are using the feature as an LFG (Looking For Game) or matchmaking service instead of a way to lead inexperienced players through the activity. The Oathkeeper score is designed to highlight which Destiny 2 fireteams are taking their role as Guides seriously and those which aren’t....

The information comes directly from the Iron Banner help page on developer Bungie’s website, telling players to be sure to cash in all their tokens before Iron Banner ends at the weekly reset: While this will be disappointing news for some Destiny 2 fans, there is not much reason to hold onto tokens. At least judging by what has been said so far about Iron Banner, which seems to be that there likely will not be new gear available during the next event, there’s not much incentive in saving up to hopefully get something different during next month’s Iron Banner....

The Iron Banner is a PvP Crucible event that has consistently reappeared in limited-time intervals since the original Destiny, and in its latest iteration lasting until 10:00 a.m. PDT on July 7, there will be eight weapons for players to go after. Six are “reissued” weapons: The Shining Sphere, Swarm of the Ravens, Talons of the Eagle, Bite of the Fox, Orewing’s Maul, and Crimil’s Dagger; and two will be “reprised” weapons: The Forward Path and The Fool’s Remedy....

This proclamation from Smith stems from a recent discussion he had with the fine folks at IGN while talking about certain graphical aspects of Destiny 2. As the game director puts it, Bungie has decided to not string people along when it comes to such hardware concerns, with the developer intending to be more forthcoming about these and other issues. “The PS4 Pro is super-powerful, but it couldn’t run our game at 60....

Some common feedback about the change to Destiny’s weapon system is that the adjustment was made to make PvP easier to balance. Smith acknowledged that the change does make it easier on Bungie’s design teams to more easily predict how much damage players will be able to dole out. But Smith also said the change benefits both PvP and PvE. One of those ways it affects PvE, says Smith, is that it further emphasizes planning and communication ahead of an activity....

Given how game-changing some Exotics can be in Destiny 2, having many of them up for the taking can be a great way to celebrate an important anniversary, while also celebrating the game’s community. As a matter of fact, one of the things that could happen is that Bungie could introduce another Presage-like secret Exotic quest that will award players with either a brand-new Exotic with no specific ties to the company or maybe something related to either Halo or Marathon....

There’s nothing wrong with a little trial-and-error when it comes to memorizing these locations, but some chests are harder to find than others. That’s because the Masterwork armor could potentially give players an edge, especially in the Crucible. Masterwork armor’s unique benefit is granting 3% additional damage resistance while in a Super with the ability to stack up to 15% with a full set of Masterwork armor. Of course, until players can get their hands on a full set and test the effectiveness of the 15% additional damage resistance, fans may not be able to fully judge if the grind is worth it....

Last week’s edition of This Week at Bungie contained a lot of information ranging from events and bug fixes to Bungie’s favorite fan art. The Destiny 2 developers also showed off two sets of concept art for the possible Festival of the Lost armor ornaments. The Dinosaur set features ornaments letting players dress their Guardians up as raptors, T-rexes, and Triceratops. Meanwhile, the Movie Monster set pays homage to three classic creatures....

This week will provide everyone with the Adept Scout Rifle upon finishing a Grandmaster Nightfall. Subsistence and Explosive Payload are the best perks to get for Hung Jury-SR4. Although Bungie has included all the Grandmaster strikes over the last few weeks of Destiny 2 Season 14, “Insight Terminus” is in the pool for all the difficulties in Nightfall for the fourteenth week. Beyond Light marked the return of Uldren Sov as the Lightbearer Crow, and Season of the Lost is taking the narrative of the Dreaming City and Mara Sov to new levels thanks to their connection with Savathun. While Beyond Light itself might not have been on par with Forsaken in scope and delivery, Year 4 was arguably one of the best all-around for Destiny 2 thanks to pinnacles of gameplay and storytelling such as Harbinger and Presage....
