Of course, a new season also means new loot to chase. In addition to a whole new selection of legendary weapons and gear, Bungie has also added a few new exotics to obtain as well. While season pass players can earn the solar bow Ticuu’s Divination, Bungie has stocked Master and Legendary Lost Sectors with new exotic items for each class. In fact, the Titan exotic Cuirass of the Falling Star has already proven to be quite strong as various streamers like Gladd have demonstrated its abilities to completely shred normally difficult bosses like Atraks-1....

Still, since it is very early for Destiny 2’s life cycle, there are plenty of exotics left for Xur to sell to either benefit players in their endgame activities or help them complete their collections. Chances are most hardcore players have a healthy selection of exotic weapons and armor already, thanks to the very generous drop rates in the game, but we’d venture to guess there are a few items on every players’ wish list....

One of the main focuses of Beyond Light is to streamline and polish Destiny 2’s many systems. This includes seasonal rank progression, the number of zones and activities as well as weapon pursuits. Bungie expects there to be a big influx of new players this year as well, thus an easy to access place to pick up abandoned quests is a welcome addition to the game. Among the announcements that trickled out as part of the official reveal for Destiny 2 was the one that the shooter will be getting two expansions, seemingly the sequel’s equivalent to Destiny 1’s The Dark Below and House of Wolves. While Destiny 2’s expansions are just going by the generic title of Expansion 1 and Expansion 2, the art released provides some pretty strong hints about their content. Most fans probably immediately noticed the logo on the art for Expansion 1, which is the logo for the Trials of Osiris....

The Rat King comes from an exotic quest within Destiny 2 and makes use of the perk “Rat Pack,” which increases the gun’s power when other Rat King users are nearby. The weapon, however, is one of Destiny 2’s most unique exotic guns, and so it comes as no surprise that it has been produced in the real world. Reddit user Jlewi34 recently shared details about last year’s Destiny 2 Raiding Against Cancer event, stating that they were able to raise $3,000 for the American Cancer Society in recognition of a Destiny 2 player named Shane (also known as Killerklown736) who died of colon cancer two years ago. Shane fought this deadly disease for two years and his strength inspired a number of members of the Destiny 2 community who are committed to the cause....

As for what players can expect to find in Destiny 2’s free trial, its scope remains a mystery. Bungie has yet to unveil what content will become free for players to try out. However, if the original Destiny’s free trial can be used as an example, Destiny 2’s trial will provide the same amount of access as what was available in the game’s open beta. For those who may have missed Destiny 2’s open beta, it featured a small selection of content from all of the game’s major content areas....

Destiny 2’s new season, Season of the Seraph, is the final season of content for Year 5 of the game and will lead directly into the February 2023 release of the next major expansion, Lightfall. The season sees players join Ana Bray, Mara Sov, the recently awakened Osiris, and Clovis Bray as they work together to finally restore Rasputin, the AI Warmind, which has been dormant since Season of Arrivals....

Bungie has broken down the Stasis Subclass differently than the Light-based Subclasses. The new Aspects and Fragments system allows for more customization of the Subclass giving Guardians options in how they wish to spec out their characters. Some Stasis Abilities have been proving to be quite strong and oppressive in PVP. Bungie announced some new changes to the Stasis Subclasses coming in a future patch on March 23, 2021....

As seen in the images below courtesy of the Redditor and Guardian known as “vitfall,” the potential Ship, Sparrow, and Ghost shell for Destiny 2’s next Iron Banner look legitimate considering the color scheme of Lord Saladin’s armor, his golden wolf emblem, and a tracing of the Ironwood Tree and its branches can be found on each. Of course, all of the pictures could simply be elaborate fakes, but taking into account the high quality of the stills and how close the skins’ design styles resemble that of Bungie’s, they are likely real....

The Lament has proven itself to be a hugely effective weapon in some of the hardest PvE activities in Destiny 2. In the weekly blog, Bungie detailed its plans for improving the Crucible, an area that many fans have been begging for an update. The studio revealed plans to introduce a new Crucible seal, focus engrams at Shaxx, updates to matchmaking, new maps, as well as introduce ways to earn older armor sets for Crucible, Iron Banner, and more. These updates represent a long term plan so players will be seeing these updates starting in season 19 and throughout 2023....

In addition, this week’s blog post also delved deeper into the changes coming to triumphs and titles once November 10 arrives. As part of Destiny 2’s Year 5, Bungie also stated that a new Dungeon would come in Season 17, which is Duality, and then a reprised Raid from Destiny would come back in Season 18, closing the year with yet another Dungeon in Season 19. Bungie also confirmed months ago that the reprised Raid would be one of the bigger ones, which excludes Crota’s End, as it is on the shorter side....

Kicking off a new Twitter thread, Bungie’s senior game designer, Brendan Thorne went about answering that common Destiny 2 question. In his example, the lead developer reveals that the team has 6 months to design a new boss for the game. The first concept is a giant squirrel-eagle cyborg that flies around the raid, breathing fire. While cool on paper, the artists and effects team is less than excited due to the massive amount of added work creating a new model, character rig, lighting, and everything else....
