According to Twitch’s own publicly-shared viewer totals, Destiny 2 peaked at over 360,000 viewers. It’s an incredible peak in viewership that the MMO shooter hasn’t seen in two years. Destiny 2 was a big addition to Xbox Game Pass last year, as not only did subscribers get the base Destiny 2 game, but they also got access to the existing expansions and the Beyond Light update as well. Bungie previously confirmed that the upcoming Witch Queen expansion would be skipping Xbox Game Pass, and it seems that the rest of the Destiny 2 experience is leaving the service soon....

Even so, Destiny 2 fans should rest assured that Bungie is offering a complete experience with Curse of Osiris, which means an increase to the level cap and the power level cap. On December 5th, the level cap will rise to 25 and the power level cap will jump to 330. While most Destiny 2 players expected Bungie to raise the power level cap, it comes as somewhat of a surprise that the level cap is rising as well....

Destiny 2 puts a lot of emphasis on movement. Stasis directly counters that movement and is proving to be a pain point for Guardians. Stasis can both freeze and slow a Guardian in the Crucible, and neither of those mechanics are something that Destiny can balance regardless of how hard it tries. To that point, Bungie director Luke Smith gave some insight into the patching process and how it, too, can push the developers to work extreme hours. Specifically, Smith explains why Bungie has not fixed Lord of Wolves already, stating that the decision was made to wait until July’s patch in order to preserve work-life balance. For those that haven’t been following the Destiny 2 meta, the Lord of Wolves shotgun has been running rampant in the Crucible....

However, the Destiny 2 Twitter account has become pretty active once again after the fun little Telesto Takeover Event a couple of weeks back. The Tweet reveals a new cutscene that was originally datamined by players ahead of the Season of Plunder epilogue. In it, House of Light Kell Mithrax studies the secrets of the reliquaries found during the Ketchcrash missions. Using the knowledge, he crafted a drink given to Osiris to help him finally wake from his coma and relay the memories of Savathun, the Witch Queen....

A fireteam made up of just two players manages to show every other Destiny 2 player up by defeating Emperor Calus together, just the two of them. The two players, Gladd and ITS IRON, absolutely melt the final raid boss and they don’t even use the infamous ‘sneaky spot’ exploit to get the job done. Gladd explains that the space/realm part of the raid was “considered impossible or unlikely by many” who doubted that a solo player could complete it successfully....

It wasn’t the focus of this week’s Destiny 2 livestream, but the footage did include confirmation that the Glimmer Cap in Year 3 will be 250,000 Glimmer. That is a 150% increase over the current cap of 100,000 Glimmer and should be a welcome change for all Destiny 2 players. The 6.3.0.5 patch for Destiny 2 was to be a rather significant hotfix, notably removing blue drops (Rare engrams) after players reach the soft gear cap, replaced with an equivalent Glimmer amount instead. It is a change that the Destiny community has long requested to aid with inventory and gear management, and was thus quite highly anticipated. However, shortly after the hotfix went live, bug reports and threads flooded in....

Void 3.0 is only the first of the three upcoming ability reworks for Destiny 2, however. Bungie had previously confirmed that Arc 3.0 would be coming in Season 17, with Solar 3.0 almost certainly bound to launch alongside Season 18, but now it’s been revealed that there’s a cheeky preview of Arc 3.0 already available in the game. This four-person Riven kill is the first to be reported, and it was accomplished by Destiny 2 streamer Gigz and his clanmates. Below, there are codes for different Emblems and Shaders that can be used to make profiles and armor look their best. Now that Proving Ground is available to all Destiny 2 players, it is this week’s Nightfall Strike, which means any high power level players can give the Grandmaster version a go. Double Nightfall rewards are also available this week, so players have a good chance of getting the Nightfall-exclusive Palindrome Hand Cannon on any Nightfall difficulty. Players who wish to obtain the Ascendant Lens will have to put in the time and effort–and there’s a lot of effort required. They will need to gather 45 Cipher Decoders, which means many hours spent in the Haunted Forest to grind for them. This may be expedited if players make use of a recently discovered cheese for farming ciphers decoders, however. If a player does manage to collect them all, then Spider will hand them the Ascendant Lens....
