The contest in question actually isn’t being run by Bungie, but by a fan-run Destiny podcast called Happy Hour from the Tower. It wants to give one random fan a special bundle to celebrate the imminent launch of Shadowkeep. To that end, the podcast has teamed up with actress Joy Osmanski, who fans will know as the voice of Failsafe, the somewhat psychotic AI that has been popping up throughout Destiny 2’s storylines....
The Ice Breaker sniper rifle and Invective shotgun were must-haves in the first Destiny game. As solar special weapons, they were key for Solar Burn PvE activities, and their exotic perks made them powerhouses in PvP. While having special weapons that constantly replenish ammo isn’t something that would fit into the sandbox of Destiny 2, and would likely ruin the Trials of Osiris, there are some alternative options for reintroducing both weapons....
Bungie has previously mentioned that new Destiny 2 seasonal events would be coming, including the return of a refreshed Faction Rally, but it appears that even more could be on the horizon including an event called Armsweek. This event was previously hinted at in an API update during the summer months, where players discovered new exotic catalysts for weapons like Hard Light, Rat King, and Prospector. Up to now, these catalysts have remained out of sight, but certain users like CDizzle have started seeing them appear within the Ishtar Collective companion app for Destiny 2 indicating that something could be on the horizon....
Speaking candidly on Twitter, Barrett acknowledged a question from Destiny 2 lore fans and promised the team is working to add more lore to the game and to deliver opportunities to consume lore outside of the online experience. Moreover, Barrett promised that these additions are in the immediate future, which is promising for those that love to digest every piece of the Destiny world. While it’s unclear what exactly Barrett means when he says more lore inside and outside of the game, it seems likely that we will see those changes with a forthcoming update....

Only twelve Destiny 2 players successfully cleared Last Wish before the daily reset on Saturday, which means those two teams, Redeem included, are the only ones in the world with the 24-hour clear emblem. Clan Math Class fell just short of the 24 hour mark, clearing the raid two-minutes past the 24 hour deadline. At the time of writing, only four fireteams have successfully cleared Last Wish at all, and all of the fireteams have been members of the Destiny content creator community....

This week’s latest blog post from Bungie detailed a number of weapon changes coming in a mid-season update including a variety of buffs to underperforming weapon classes. The new modifier known as Airborne Effectiveness is getting buffed while precision based hand cannons, auto rifles, and scout rifles are all getting enhancements as well. However, the studio has provided a small glimpse at the future, with this week’s blog post highlighting upcoming changes to the Deepsight weapon and crafting feature. Both systems have their flaws and thanks to continued player feedback, Bungie announced a number of major changes to improve it. This includes more opportunities to earn crafting currencies and level weapons as well as removing the Deepsight feature from dropping with weapons that can’t actually be crafted....
This week, players can find Xur on Io, the last destination unlocked during the story campaign. Specifically, Xur is hiding in the Giant Scar section of Io, in a cave off the beaten path. Destiny 2 players may think that they need to travel all the way around to reach Xur, but he is actually tucked inside a cave off to the left in the second open area. Simply walk or sparrow along the wall, and then head into the cavern....
Since Bungie has not officially announced a Destiny 2 trial it is unclear how substantial this offering will be. Back around the time Destiny 1 first launched, Bungie released a trial for players that functioned a lot like the game’s beta, unlocking the bulk of Earth’s content as a type of demo. While that seems like a potential path for Destiny 2’s trial, the emblem suggests this will be more substantial than that....
While Adventures seemed like a good addition to the Destiny 2 grind, the rewards tied to those side quests never felt worth the effort. The idea of locking loadouts in Trials of Osiris comes from the idea that Trials of Osiris is an endgame activity similar to Grandmaster Nightfalls.
