Artist Yone Santana is taking gamers back to a simpler time, when packaging for video games was an art form. Clearly inspired by Atari game boxes of old, he’s created what he imagines would be the Destiny 2 box art, if it were released around thirty years ago. His medium is ink for the art itself, with the frame created in Photoshop. He truly captures the style, even going so far as to alter the Bungie logo to fit the period....
The trailer was relatively brief, but finally confirmed and gave a quick rundown on what to expect from the return of Trials of Osiris in Destiny 2. Other than what was announced, there were some additional tidbits within the trailer that weren’t specifically highlighted as well as a few details Bungie announced outside the trailer as well. Here are some subtle details we learned from the trailer and afterwards....
The pair of Guardians who decided to take on this task consisted of the Clan Redeem members known as “Gladd” and “Chevy”, with this “2 Man Marathon Challenge” requiring both of them to beat every raid boss that could be defeated with a duo squad in Destiny 2. On top of the already difficult task of defeating each of these big baddies as just a two-person crew, they also set self-imposed limitations of each boss needing to be beaten back-to-back without any wipes or restarts....

The Essence of Servitude legendary quest can be found through a variety of methods on the Moon such as finishing lost sectors, opening treasure chests and more. This quest requires 15 Fusion Rifle kills, 100 Vex defeated on the Moon, and recovering an artifact known as Ehrath’Ur’s Horned Wreath. Keep in mind that item needed to complete this quest is actually difference from the Horned Wreath quest item required for the Essence of Vanity....
This week, Destiny 2 players can find Xur on Nessus, in the Arcadian Valley of Watcher’s Grave. Regular Xur patrons will remember this as the first spot he set up shop in Destiny 2, high atop a tree. Had Xur originally been hidden from the map and the markers, this might have seemed like a cool hiding place for the Agent of the Nine. Unfortunately, Bungie took all of that guess work out of the equation by showing players where Xur is and giving them the ability to mark him....
Still unconfirmed is when exactly the season’s accompanying premium Annual Pass content add-on, Jokers Wild, will launch. Because Bungie has yet to confirm Season 6 and Jokers Wild both starting on March 5th, it is likely that Jokers Wild will follow the same release pattern as Season 5 and its Black Armory content drop. Players saw Black Armory launch one week after the beginning of Season 5, so under that assumption, that would mean that Jokers Wild will launch March 12, but that has yet to be confirmed....
Although Rise of Iron skipped out on the Collector’s Edition fun, Destiny 2 will get things back on track with a $250 package that includes tons of goodies. Of course, the Destiny 2 Collector’s Edition comes with a steelbook copy of the game and its expansion pass, but it also includes some exclusive in-game items (a legendary sword, a special emote, and a unique emblem), a customizable bag themed after the Cabal, and a Frontier kit that includes a solar USB charger, a paracord, and a solar blanket....
First and foremost, starting September 17 all Eververse armor that players own will be converted into Universal Ornaments. The Ornaments can be skinned onto any Legendary Armor acquired after September 17, allowing players to visually customize their armor without the need to worry about stats changing. It’s something Guardians have been begging for and Bungie is soon going to be able to deliver it later this year. A smaller, but perhaps equally significant change is that all Eververse items unlocked in a player’s Collections will no longer require Bright Dust to create....
Both Ward and Harris appear to have been coached a bit for this developer video, as they both lean in on the rhetoric a bit strongly. On the other hand, you can tell they’re both excited about their game and don’t want to misrepresent it. Nevertheless, as the video opens the two developers discuss the original Destiny in a way that’s certain to cause some fans some consternation: Ward’s definitely trying to exaggerate the comparison in order to focus in on what Bungie’s doing with Destiny 2’s story, but leading with understating the issues with the original Destiny’s story might not be the best way to do that....
It’s a good direction to hear considering a common critique of Destiny 2 has been the new weapon system, which (when compared to Destiny 1) gave players two Primary weapons and combined Special and Heavy weapons into one Power weapon slot. That, in addition to a collection of exotic weapons that don’t necessarily feel any more powerful than Legendary weapons, has led to a loss of the power fantasy in the game....
The Witherhoard exotic grenade launcher was quickly found to have picked up an issue when the Beyond Light update tweaked a number of Destiny 2’s exotics in order to balance them with the new light levels and updated content. This also isn’t the only exotic that was negatively impacted, as Rose also had a light level bug, with both weapons warranting an official tweet from Bungie to acknowledge the issues....
To review, players have long complained about how hard it is to find Enhancement Cores in Destiny 2, which are a requirement for infusing gear to higher levels. The requirement can prove very limiting in allowing players using the loadouts and favorite gear that they want while they level up. Bungie explained that the scarcity is purposeful to make the choice to infuse gear impactful. The upcoming changes look to balance that with players wanting more access to Enhancement Cores by making them a guaranteed drop from new Gunsmith bounties following the removal of Scrapper bounties....
One of the major changes is the removal of the need for four different versions of a given armor piece for build crafting purposes. This means that players no longer have to have multiple versions of the same armor piece, one for each energy type. This simplifies the buildcrafting process and saves players time and resources. Players will no longer need to keep multiple sets of high-rolled armor, which should significantly cut down on grinding time overall....
The bounty in question this week is called Imperial Bestiary, which tasks players with killing a certain amount of all enemy factions in the game. While not overly difficult, it’s designed to take Destiny 2 players some time to get through. Once all Skorn, Cabal, Vex, Fallen, Taken, and Hive meters have been completed, the Imperial Treasure Map points players to the Dreaming City and into the Spine of Keres behind the Divalian Mists....
And based on the information about Season 9 released so far, it does not appear that any of the game’s raids are being revisited or reprised in any way. While not entirely a surprise considering that developer Bungie never teased that a raid would be coming in Season of Dawn, it does bring up a question of when players might see another raid in Destiny 2. Chest 1: EDZ The first chest Destiny 2 players will need to track down is in the EDZ. Head over to Firebase Hades and go into the base typically seen at the start of the Arms Dealer strike. When players get to the area where they would normally dunk the solar charge, run off to the right from where the solar charge is and find the alcove immediately on the left side of the walkway....
This week, Destiny 2 players can find Xur in his Earth hiding spot in the European Dead Zone. For those that may not know, Xur can be on one of the four patrol areas (EDZ, Titan, Io, Nessus) but he only has one hiding spot per destination. His icon also appears right on the map, so simply target him and the HUD will do the rest. Even so, Xur is slightly difficult to get to up on a cliff....
Destiny 2’s current Season of Plunder brought a lot to the table with its initial release, including 2 new seasonal PvE activities, 3 Fortnite-inspired armor sets, and even the return of Destiny’s King’s Fall raid, to name just a few of the biggest features. In spite of these additions, Destiny 2 has struggled to keep many players consistently engaged with Season 18’s content, and quite a few players have temporarily moved away to other games as a result....
When Destiny 2 players want to look at the available weapon Ornaments, they typically need to access the rotating Eververse shop but Bungie has been looking at ways to streamline the experience a bit better. Beginning next Tuesday, Destiny 2 players will be able to view and purchase available Ornaments for Exotic armor and weapons when inspecting those particular items. Although Destiny 2 fans will still be able to view the Ornaments in the traditional Eververse method, this will make it easier for them to locate Ornaments for gear that they use....
