While the mere presence of a hyper-advanced human city is a huge reveal for the universe of Destiny 2, its native warriors, Cloudstriders, are even more interesting. Bungie has revealed a few key details about the game’s new faction of friendly trans-human combatants, as it has been suggested that they’re fairly comparable in combat to Lightbearers themselves thanks to advanced nanotechnology. A few representatives from Bungie recently took to Twitter to answered a ton of Destiny 2 questions about the upcoming sandbox update. There is a lot of new information to break down, so we’ll post the highlights here. Settle in for a good read, Guardians… The follow answers were all provided by either Josh Hamrick, Sandbox Design Lead, or Senior PVP designer Kevin Yanes. Q. I noticed a lot of damage increases on pulses, scouts, etc mentioned PvE but not PvP....

Destiny 2 grants a Flawless Completion if a fireteam manages to clear a dungeon without suffering any deaths, but this most recent bug provides a work around for that. Should players spawn in at the checkpoint directly prior to the boss fight and defeat it without dying, they will get a Flawless Completion. Even before the expansion was officially unveiled, fans were trying to decipher banner images and sound recordings posted by Bungie to see if they could be hiding clues regarding the next big expansion of Destiny 2. In the end, it turned out that the studio was holding its cards close to its chest as the community was quite surprised with the announcement stream. Online and free-to-play games are prone to hacking, which is the primary reason Bungie has chosen not to go with the handheld device. Besides hacking issues, Destiny 2 still has a few troubling bugs that often get on gamers’ nerves. Previously, Bungie warned Destiny 2 users to avoid Season of the Risen War Table bounties due to a severe bug. More recently, a new bug has arrived that is bothering gamers due to a scarce item in the game, the Ascendant Alloy....

The sandbox has been adjusting with the new Solar rework for the last four weeks. Guardians all across the system are trying to find the best builds and gears to synergize with the new abilities. With the reset, Destiny 2 has numerous new activities, items from vendors and seasonal challenges. With three weeks remaining until Grandmaster Nightfall, everyone is eyeing a 1585 cap to access the endgame activity. The Bound in Sorrow’s fourth step is also live, where Zavala reaches the end of a confrontation with his wife, Safiyah....

The ten-minute “ViDoc” touches upon much of what Bungie has already teased regarding Shadowkeep in recent months, like the changes being made to Destiny 2’s weapon mods, but it also opens up a little more on how the studio is approaching seasonal storytelling going into the expansion. Whereas Destiny 2 up until now has mostly continued its narrative through more self-contained tales, Shadowkeep will mark the start of a new storyline that will expand beyond a single season....

Destiny 2 general manager Mark Noseworthy and franchise director Luke Smith revealed that finishing moves have much more benefit to players than just looking cool. Talking to Polygon, the developers said that players will be able to add mods to their armor that add a perk to their finishing moves—a positive trade-off for exposing themselves to danger during the animation. One example given of one of these mods was the player and their fireteam getting their ammo refilled after performing a finishing move....

While Bungie never stated when/if Trials of the Nine would end, most assumed that the endgame PvP experience would work like Trials of Osiris in Destiny 1. Friday morning at 10am PT Trials would go live and it would be available until reset on Tuesday morning. Destiny 2’s version, however, could be a week-long event that only rotates its map on Friday morning, but stays active permanently. Bungie never said exactly how Trials would work in Destiny 2, so it’s very possible this is simply working as intended....

In an incredible example of “Doing the Math,” Redditor nutty-max wrote up an extended analysis breaking down what he believes to be the Vex Mythoclast’s drop rate. He solved this using data pulled from nearly 10,000 Destiny 2 players’ inventories, which were available to peruse via Bungie’s API. Using this data, nutty-max came to the conclusion that a player’s first run of Vault of Glass resulted in just a 1% drop rate for the Vex Mythoclast, but that’s not the entire story....

The Lament Exotic Sword is not only a unique and stylish new sword for Destiny Guardians, but it also has some great stats. The sword allows players to use a defensive guard, and it also has a Light attack that builds damage buffs to destroy enemies. Eramis was a minor character before Beyond Light, but the expansion positioned her as one of the main antagonists of Destiny 2 with the introduction of Europa, a destination teeming with Fallen. Those that played the Beyond Light campaign know that Eramis got encased in Stasis ice at the end of the story. Since Bungie didn’t explicitly show her die, many Destiny 2 fans assumed that she may come back....

Unfortunately, nothing has changed this week either, though there may be hope for the future of this merchant. The recent information regarding what’s to come for the game has revealed an interesting update known as Xur Bounties. Information is non-existent on what this feature actually is and players will have to wait until 2019 during the Season of the Drifter to find out more. Earlier this week, Bungie revealed plans for the next phase of the Menagerie which is set to kick off next week. While the the Heroic version starts at 750 power and scales up, it also disables matchmaking so players who are interested need to get in fireteams before jumping in. While the mode will kick players back to orbit for falling in battle thanks to the extinguish modifier, the risk is worth the reward as Bungie is adding new triumphs and rewards for those brave enough to enter....

Interestingly enough details for Season 19 may have arrived a bit earlier than expected. Eagle-eyed fans noticed in the original Witch Queen crafting video that Bungie showcased how weapon crafting can be used on existing weapons, in this case Seventh Seraph, which is commonly linked to Warmind Cells attributed to Rasputin. With Ana Bray and Rasputin’s storyline still left unresolved, and a possible connection to the Nefele Stronghold on Neptune within the Warmind logs, many are assuming Rasputin could be a key feature in Season 19 to help tie Destiny 2 to the Lightfall campaign....

These rumors aren’t exactly new, but they have been revived since Black Armory is set to launch sometime this winter. In fact, these rumors first began to circulate back in July when Destiny 2: Forsaken leads Steven Cotton and Scott Taylor both answered black to a question of what color a new gear tier would be. Now, a new leak from Reddit user JordanWrightFilm (who has accurately leaked info before) suggests that black tier gear is an actual thing....

As seen in the tweet below from Bungie, the studio is well aware of the issue, and it suggests a workaround requiring Guardians to relaunch their activity in the Destiny 2 beta on PS4. However, there are numerous players who attest to having tried a relaunch, and have even gone so far as to reboot their entire console in order to see if it would make the Moose error code cease, leaving the developer to investigate the issue until it’s thoroughly solved....

The specific numbers, based on weapon profiles scraped by the light.gg website, are 98 new Legendary and Exotic weapons in Forsaken and 31 in Beyond Light. Redditor Cayde_Is_Alive further breaks down Beyond Light’s weapons as 6 from Adept Trials rewards, 2 “reissued” Iron Banner weapons, and 5 Season Pass weapons. As the game evolves and grows, the needs of the player base shift in Destiny 2. The studio usually only announces major Destiny updates before the patch notes arrive and so there’s no way to know what is coming in the future.
