Something that many Destiny 2 players don’t seem to realize is that the effort to activate a Heroic Public Event is ultimately worthwhile, as the encounter will then grant better rewards, including: higher level drops, a larger amount of glimmer, and an upgraded chance of receiving a legendary or exotic engram. With that in mind, players who are looking to grind their guardians to the highest levels would be better off taking the time to meet the Heroic requirements....

There has been a lot of debate about what raid content means for Destiny 2, but now we know. Curse of Osiris will add a new raid-like encounter called a Raid Lair. This Raid Lair, named Leviathan, Eater of Worlds, will send players back into Leviathan and into the “belly of the beast.” According to Bungie, the encounter will take place below Calus’ Palace, which suggests a more mechanical aesthetic....

Calendar watchers can also look forward to various annual events that happen at specific times of the year. In fact, those who manage to participate in each of the core four events of Guardian Games, Solstice, Festival of the Lost, and The Dawning can even get their hands on a new title that Bungie created this year known as Reveler. The latest chance to progress that title has finally arrived as the Winter and Holiday celebration known as The Dawning has returned to Destiny 2....

In a section of the blog post entitled “High Fidelity,” Bungie’s Community Manager Cozmo outlines what players can expect when booting up Destiny 2 on a PS4 Pro or Xbox One X for the first time after downloading the new patch. The MMO-inspired shooter will reportedly scale to meet the potential of the new hardware, and that means significant graphical improvements are in order. On December 5, packaged alongside the launch of Curse of Osiris and Season Two, Bungie are releasing an update for Destiny 2 that will deliver “stunning gameplay with high dynamic range (HDR) lighting” to the new consoles....

However, each of these activities consists of an Exotic gear one way or the other. This is where luck comes in, which can be frustrating for some players. Be it a Raid or a Dungeon, players can’t guarantee themselves an Exotic gear, except weapons tied to a seasonal quest. Destiny 2 weapons such as Xenophage and Gjallarhorn were easily obtainable due to their quest. This has got players wondering if the newest Exotic Sword from the Duality Dungeon is farmable in some way....

The developer also said that Destiny 2 players can expect additional content for the Leviathan raid to be released next year. Although very little has been revealed about this additional raid layer at this point, Bungie has confirmed that it is scheduled to release with the next Destiny 2 expansion pack around spring 2018. If the first raid lair is anything to go by, Bungie will probably offer a Prestige version of it, too....

Today, Bungie released its new ViDoc on YouTube, called Light in the Darkness, which highlights different aspects of the upcoming expansion and changes being made to core mechanics, including the new Stasis-like Void subclasses. Still, the ViDoc was the perfect spotlight for Savathun’s army of risen Hive Lightbearers and how disruptive they can be, which is why Destiny 2’s Season 16 is focusing on suppressing them. Thanks to Redditor IAMADragonAMAA, this new Destiny 2 chart is a large spreadsheet that crunches the numbers on the DPS and total damage of weapons in PvE raid encounters, with previews of weapons post-buff/nerf. The test subject for this raid was Kali from the Last Wish raid, and for the most part, the chart covers everything Destiny 2 player would want to know before heading into Crown of Sorrow....

Titans and Warlocks have their representatives in Commander Zavala and Ikora Rey, respectively, but Hunters have been left without a leader ever since the death of Cayde-6 in the Destiny 2 Forsaken expansion all the way back in 2018. As such, Destiny 2 fans have been looking for potential candidates for the Hunter Vanguard position ever since. While there are a few suitable candidates in the form of characters like Crow and Ana Bray, other major Hunters like Shiro-4 and Lady Efrideet haven’t returned to Destiny 2....

And yet, while having Master difficulty active for a handful of Raids does provide players with an extra layer of challenge and rewards, with Adept Raid weapons soon receiving a rework that could make them more desirable, this is not necessarily the best course of action. The main reason is that Destiny 2’s Raids are often not something that regular players engage with, and that’s because of several factors combined, such as the lack of in-game LFGs and a spike in difficulty and team coordination....

The Fanatic The Fanatic, Fikrul, is second only to Uldren Sov himself, and is the leader of the Scorn. The Fanatic views The Scorn as what the Fallen (Eliksni) should have been, and that is eternal. The Eliksni are machine worshippers, and they created the Servitors in the image of the Great Machine – The Traveler. But The Fanatic cast aside machine worship, and was exiled for this until he joined up with The Barons....

Though players don’t actually see Savathun’s face, what is shown of her regalia and body is enough to make the connection to one of those aforementioned leaks, potentially confirming part of it. What is shown is very reminiscent of Savathun’s leaked image for The Witch Queen, which was an upscaled version of what looked like early concept art for the next big expansion of Destiny 2. Many players thought the image was a fake, as it depicted the Hive God with a Ghost just above her shoulder, and the reasoning was that there was no way Savathun would ever get the Traveler’s Light for herself....

Writing on Reddit, the Destiny 2 player explained that they took part in 100 Public Events (50 regular and 50 Heroic events), recording the results from those that they successfully completed. The overall rare drop rate was 120% (regular events had a 94% rare drop rate, Heroic had a 146% rare drop rate), the overall drop rate of legendary items was 4% (regular events 8%, Heroic 0%), and the overall Exotic drop rate was 4% (regular events 2%, Heroic 6%)....

The key is how Shadowkeep is retooling the Nightfall by adding additional difficulty modes in a version of the Nightfall called The Ordeal. The higher players go up the difficulty ladder, the more likely they are to get exotic drops. The new difficulty modes, from easiest to hardest, are Adept, Hero, Legend, and Master. In new gameplay of Shadowkeep shown in a new ViDoc about the game and its future, the difficulty selection screen for the Nightfall is shown, which identifies exotic drops to be “Common” in Legend and Master difficulties, which are 950 and 980 Power, respectively....

As with any new event in Destiny 2, the Eververse is packed with new themed content for players to purchase such as new Ghosts, a gravestone Exotic Emote, and the return of Destiny 1’s famous Lost Broom sparrow from the Sweeper Bot, with a witches broom theme this time around. While all of that is great, players that are looking to play a brand new activity and complete all of the new event Triumphs must look no further than the Haunted Forest, which in its own right is a fun activity but one that’s bogged down after receiving minimal changes from last year’s Haunted Forest, and was repeated with the Vernal Forest from The Revelry event back in Spring....

While Destiny players are plenty familiar with the regular engram, the Bright Engram is a little different. In Destiny 2, Bright Engrams are decrypted by Tess Everis of Eververse, instead of Tyra Karn the Cryptarch in The Farm, and they can contain cosmetic gear, shaders, sparrows, emotes, ships, and numerous other collectible items. In essence, Bright Engrams are a way for players to earn items from a handpicked Eververse collection without needing to spend Silver or a new currency called Bright Dust (hint: Bright Engram items dismantle into Bright Dust)....

The race in question is the Ahamkara, a race of dragons that could grant wishes. The dragons are thought to be killed off during the Great Ahamkara Hunt, where Guardians slew nearly every dragon in the solar system, because the Vanguard believed them to be too powerful. Some remnants of the race still remain in the form of armor pieces, which sometimes grant hints and clues about the future of the game....

Outside of the game itself, Bungie also made a major announcement this week regarding the future of the company. Its headquarters in Bellevue, Washington is going to nearly triple in size by 2022, expanding from 84,000 square feet to over 208,000. The added space will feature state of the art facilities to house and support multiple projects both in the Destiny Universe and outside of it. In addition, a new office is opening in Amsterdam that will be for the publishing and marketing divisions....

Alongside the new expansion and Season of the Risen content are a slew of new exotic gear for players to chase. The Deluxe Edition exclusive SMG Osteo Striga has already proven to be a hit with players, resembling a fast firing Thorn, capable of dishing out poison damage incredibly fast.
