In a move likely to push back against the belief that the studio is moving away from PvP, Bungie has hired the Destiny 2 player known as Change from the BombSquadKittens clan. According to a post in the Discord channel, the position is a minimum 6-month consulting role to help the team on the Crucible side of development. As such, Change won’t be on Twitch or other community endeavors due to NDA and contractual obligations....
Destiny 2’s highest points, many agree, were both Forsaken and Beyond Light, which changed the game forever. The death of Cayde-6, Uldren and Mara Sov’s story, the Scorn, and more, only to top all that with Darkness finally coming, and Guardians wielding its powers, all pushed Destiny 2’s narrative further. Destiny 2’s introduction of seasons has helped incrementally push the story forward in a meaningful way. This is the case for Season of the Splicer, which is now in its fourth week, and several moments could have a long-term effect on Destiny 2’s narrative; including Savathun’s Song, the Eliksni being sabotaged, and Saint-14 being addressed as a monster....

While Beyond Light introduces a fair share of new exotic items and weapons, many fans are seemingly disappointed that a lot of beloved legacy gear is now more or less obsolete. However, the event wasn’t quite what fans were hoping for. While players ended up finding the most optimal way to farm Captain’s Coins, the community was actually able to speed run the event and complete it in roughly 25 hours. The reveal came from Assistant Game Director for Destiny 2, Joe “Joegoroth” Blackburn in a “Destiny 2021 Update” article published on Bungie’s website earlier today. While the service is suspended, Destiny 2 players will no longer be able to pull exotics and emblems from their collection in their vault, so players will want to make sure they have any must-have exotics or emblems on-hand before the weekly reset on August 28. Over on the Destiny 2 sub-Reddit, players have begun reporting a glitch related to Sunbreaker Titans using the Warmind exotic gauntlet, Warmgod Caress. The exotic perk on this armor is called Burning Fists that increases melee damage after a melee kill that stacks up to five times. The latest issue comes in the form of an iron banner ornament for the Destiny 2 exotic grenade launcher Fighting Lion. Bungie community manager, Dylan Gafner (who goes by dmg04 online), took to the Destiny subreddit to provide fans with an outlook on how this feature that has been requested of Sony for years could affect players in Destiny 2. Gafner said the developer is testing the name change and how it will affect the game, and while Bungie can’t guarantee anything completely until Sony’s name change system is fully in place, it’s looking like Destiny 2 players will not be negatively affected by any of the issues mentioned by Sony....
