The new system received a brief showcase in the new ViDoc showing off what’s coming this fall in Destiny 2 with Shadowkeep and Year 3, but more light has been shed on the Armor 2.0 system. Destiny franchise director Luke Smith and general manager Mark Noseworthy went further in-depth about Armor 2.0 in an interview with Polygon. First off, as was shown off in the original ViDoc, the way armor functions and the way it looks are being separated with new armor coming in Year 3....
In Destiny 2, players are able to collect bounties tied to the various game modes, vendors, and more. The Destiny 2 bounties challenge players to get kills with certain weapons, loot Lost Sector chests, and complete a whole host of other activities. Destiny 2 bounties can be collected directly from the person giving them out, but the far more convenient way to collect them is using the Destiny 2 app....
While the glitch itself has been known among certain circles for a while, it only recently started to gain more widespread attention when a few well-known glitchers shared teaser videos. JB3 was the first video that Game Rant saw and it featured a Titan activating their Ward of Dawn super and creating an absurd number of Orbs of Power. It’s all a result of the drastic changes Destiny 2’s weapon systems are about to undergo, including redesigned weapon slots, more impactful mods, and random rolls. With the news that Year 1 weapons would be carrying forward into Year 2 through Infusion, one of the more nuanced questions that developer Bungie has answered is that the element a weapon has going into the August 28 game update will be locked in permanently....
Destiny 2’s weapons will feature a new setup that includes mods and shaders. While it’s still not clear exactly how mods will affect the weapons, one theory is that they could potentially allow a player to add their own additional desired perk to the gun. That may allow for some customization and randomization to the loot of Destiny 2, especially considering news that the guns in the game will have fixed rolls....
Reddit user Hux22 posted that they’d recently “finished my 5 The Ordeal Nightfalls” but that they “didn’t get a powerful drop.” Completing Nightfalls in Destiny 2 should count toward two different Powerful rewards. There’s the Vanguard Weekly Strikes task and the Nightfall: The Ordeal task, which should grant a powerful Pinnacle Engram. But according to Hux22, they didn’t receive a reward above their base level at all, despite that it’s supposed to be a guaranteed drop....
Many of the changes spotted include those that address many of the complaints that fans have had about Destiny 2’s PvP for some time now. The news comes via streamer tripleWRECK on Twitter, who played the build of the game at PAX. He noted these changes specifically: Nightstalker’s Shadowshot Tether now one-shots enemies Resilience/health reduced on roaming supers Higher-impact sniper rifles (90 RPM) could kill Striker Titans and Dawnblade Warlocks in their supers with a headshot Dawnblade’s Burst Glide now has a buildup to its acceleration instead of going so fast immediately but retains its top speed once reached...
Of course, players who just want to try out what Destiny 2 is all about should just download Destiny 2: New Light, which is the free-to-play version of the game without the story expansions. However, players who are committed to playing everything the game has to offer should purchase Destiny 2: Shadowkeep, which is only $17.84 for the PC at Green Man Gaming. Destiny 2 is trending once again today on Twitter, and this time too is not because players are happy about something, but rather due to the debacle that was the latest announcement regarding the dungeons coming in Year 5. The whole thing started with a few people making posts on Reddit about the price tag for The Witch Queen and the content included with it, which stemmed from the fact that Bungie’s wording regarding the dungeons and the Deluxe Edition was not clear enough....
Just this past week, The Dawning also arrived, adding an additional layer of content over what players have already been doing. While The Dawning has its own quest line and gear to obtain, a lot of it revolves around collecting ingredients for baking treats for the various NPCs, easily obtained through just playing the game. Thankfully, players can continue enjoying the anniversary content, while also scoring materials needed for The Dawning as well....
Needless to say, the cinematic reinvigorated the community over the potential ramifications it could have on the story. However, Bungie’s weekly post this week had some not so great news in terms of weapons. More than a few popular weapon archetypes are getting nerfs in Season 10 as well as exotics like Izanagi’s Burden, The Last Word, and Lord of Wolves. On the positive side, Auto Rifles are getting a slight boost in both PvP and PvE activities....
While it would be fun if Xur sold some of his exotics at a discount, past experience with Destiny 1 has shown that the Agent of the Nine is not a fan of sales. He wants full price for each item and players will need to pay up. Luckily some of this week’s items are worth the Legendary Shards, especially for those on PC. This week, Destiny 2 players can find Xur on Io in the Giant’s Scar area....
Being coached by the Destiny 2 streamer Gladd, the player known as Bagel4k took to the dungeon and on their second try managed to bring down Dul Incaru and finished the Shattered Dungeon solo. Unfortunately, nothing immediately happened, which was unexpected. However, Bungie was apparently waiting for this day as the studio out out a new blog post under the guise of Savathun and how her plan was now seemingly coming true....
In a press release from Activision, the company said to expect news about the Destiny 2 Open Beta at E3: Activision and Bungie have both been tight-lipped when it comes to an actual release date for the Beta, only saying that it would arrive this summer. In addition to the Open Beta, fans can also get early access to the Beta by pre-ordering the game from any retailer. Some are predicting that the Beta will appear in July, perhaps even on July 7, which is known as Bungie Day to the developer’s fans....
