Similar to what happened once Riven was beaten for the first time inside of the Last Wish raid, Destiny 2 has once again changed as new content and quests appeared for all players. Players received a new exotic quest leading to the extremely powerful heavy sword The Lament as well as taking part in new Exo Challenges on Europa. Players could also visit a brand new NPC deep within the Exo Science area, a massive exo head that contains the AI version of Clovis Bray....

In addition to known content, fans have continued to discover smaller changes that went unreported. In fact, last weekend, players found that Xur now has more inventory than typical which includes Legendary armor and weapons. Digging a bit deeper, it was discovered that Xur’s potential inventory includes legacy Trials weapons as well as from Iron Banner and the now retired Gambit Prime game mode. Destiny 2 currently has four subclasses for each of its primary classes. They are based on four elements: Arc, Void, Solar, and Stasis. As opposed to the original three Light-based powers, Stasis launched with the Beyond Light expansion in 2020, and it gives players access to Darkness-based powers. Now, Bungie has revealed a brand-new type of subclass, called Strand, that will launch with the upcoming Lightfall expansion. Players with a keen sense of hearing and a willingness to go a bit off the beaten path will find an Easter egg in the Tower hangar. While exploring the hangar, players will notice that the jukebox is glitching and looping “Hope For the Future”, the Paul McCarthney song that plays during the original credits. Those who have come to Destiny in recent years not know anything about the storied history of Paul McCartney and his involvement in Bungie’s sci-fi shooter....

Most notable among this legacy content is the Wrath of the Machine raid, which already has some of its equipment previously implemented into the current build of Destiny 2. It starts first with the power level advantage, which will be turned on for the first time in Destiny 2’s history. Players will do more damage (and survive more damage) based on their power level. Now it behooves players to consider their loadouts in new ways by making sure no piece of gear is holding them back. It also means those that have put less effort into the power level grind to 600 will be at a disadvantage, but likely not by too much....

Reddit user u/Lamipoo created a post on the site to suggest a way to revamp the armor affinity mechanics. As it stands, armor comes with a specific affinity (solar, void, arc, or stasis) and certain mods can be attached if they match the affinity. Players can switch the affinity of a piece of armor, but it can cost a lot of precious resources if the armor is a high tier or masterworked....

A press release from Activision reveals that Destiny 2 hit a number of milestones in its first week of availability. After launching for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on September 6, the title went on to have the biggest Day 1 Sales Globally for PlayStation Store and then went on to surpass the original Destiny’s records for engagement and digital sales during the launch week. In its weekly blog post, developer Bungie detailed some of the sandbox balance changes that will be coming to Destiny 2 with Season of Opulence. The first Clarion Call event will ask players to play activities alongside a clanmate. By doing so, those players will unlock double XP for themselves. Double XP might not seem that exciting considering most players have already hit the level cap, but the boost to XP will also help players earn Bright Engrams and the items that lie within them. It’s unclear when the first Clarion Call will go live, but it is expected to occur near the end of Destiny 2’s first season, which is currently active....

The much anticipated Cross Save feature also officially went live this week, letting Guardians not only prepare their accounts for the October 1 update, but to also start using it if they own the game on multiple platforms. While licenses for various expansion content isn’t eligible to transfer between platforms, using Cross Save will transfer characters, Eververse Silver, and gear to be available for use on any linked platform....

While these were initially supposed to spawn following a normal activity such as Gambit or the Crucible, players noticed that the drop rates were extremely low.
