Trials of the Nine is meant to be Destiny 2’s top-tier PvP offering but so far it hasn’t been able to live up to the experience offered by Trials of Osiris, its predecessor from Destiny 1. Functionally, the modes are very similar. Both task players with achieving consecutive victories with the overall goal of going Flawless; racking up seven wins and no losses. Winning fireteams are granted access to the Spire social space and receive rewards based on how many wins they managed to accrue before being eliminated....

With Proving Ground receiving praise from the Destiny 2 community in its first week, the Strike is now available to all players and is this week’s Nightfall Strike, which means players can give the Grandmaster version a go if they are a high enough power level. Proving Ground also formed a key part of the ongoing seasonal story in Season of the Chosen as it was the finale of the seven-part questline....

As mentioned, the quest for Devil’s Ruin was brief. Players signed into the game on the weekly reset to get a message right on the first screen saying that the quest was available and to head to this season’s Sundial activity to start. Players did just that, finding that completing one run of the Sundial made the exotic weapon frame for Devil’s Ruin available to pick up from the rewards panel at the end of the Sundial....

Exotics, in general, are in an interesting place right now in Destiny 2. This week’s big update certainly helped players by adding a duplicate weighing system which makes it a lot more likely that the next exotic engram to drop won’t contain an item the player already has. However, exotics continue to drop at a very low rate and the much hyped up Master Ives murder mystery quest has so far disappointed many by being only the basic first step to a series of quests that are spaced out over numerous weeks....

Xur sells weapons and armor in Destiny 2 as part of his weekly inventory, including many rare items. For example, last week Xur sold The Scholar - a Trials of Osiris weapon that not many players have, and a few weeks back he even sold a Rangefinder/Timed Payload True Prophecy, much to the joy of hand cannon enthusiasts. Since the launch of Destiny 2, melee hits in the Crucible have been a shadow of their D1 selves. Depending on ability charges being active, what exotic a player was wearing, and Internet stability, there were plenty of instances where it took up to 3 or 4 hits to kill an opponent with melee. Now, Destiny 2 will revert to the old standard introduced back in the Halo days; two melee hits and the opponent is out....

There are 12 different weapons listed “in no particular order” on dmg04’s tweet of weapons that players have direct messaged him about being OP, annoying to face off against, or need to be nerfed. A lot of them are rare Exotic weapons, including the kinetic fusion rifle Bastion, the machine gun Heir Apparent, and the auto rifle Hard Light that was just recently nerfed in a patch. The bonus rewards for the Menagerie in Destiny 2 will grant players an extra item each time they use the Chalice of Opulence to craft something. So, Friday players unlocked two drops (three with an upgraded Chalice) and then next Friday Bungie will unlock three. This will continue until every Menagerie run grants 5 total rewards on September 27th. There are few creatures from Destiny 2 as appropriate in name and appearance than Riven of a Thousand Screams for a Halloween pumpkin carving, so Reddit user u/FranaticArt chose their subject well. They started by carving out Riven’s signature eyes, then made a large gap for the mouth. The jaw and ear plates were made using a second pumpkin, and they used pumpkin seeds to create those horrifying rows of sharp teeth....

The creator’s Reddit username is NikkoJT and they described how much effort went into their work in a reply to another comment. “I usually put out one every couple of days,” they say, noting that just the artwork for each weapon would take “a few hours each.” While NikkoJT says their efforts are purely a creative endeavor, they also drop a mention for Bungie. In the lore of Destiny, the story of Thorn and The Last Word and their wielders Dredgen Yor and Shin Malphur is perhaps the most popular. More of this lore made its way out of the text and into the game over this past year as those two weapons returned to the sequel and the Season of the Drifter revealed more about them. In the lore, the fallen Guardian Dredgen Yor imbued his original weapon known as The Rose with Darkness to transform it into Thorn....

Guardians can trigger the Destiny 2 glitch on any hand cannon weapon, but only Hunters are capable of pulling it off. First, players need to equip the Lucky Pants leg armor, which has the Illegally Modded Holster. This piece of armor buffs up hand cannon ready speed and initial stability. The trick is to first hit a precision kill and then reload the weapon. After that, the player quickly pulls out their ghost and puts it away....

For most Destiny veterans Gjallarhorn was a must-have in the first game. That’s particularly true for Season of the Haunted’s seasonal mods, which are quite different from Season of the Risen’s in that they do include powerhouse options that dramatically affect character builds and endgame activities. Among the various additions, Destiny 2 players were quick to find out that a specific seasonal mod called Classy Restoration may be too powerful for its own good, so much so that it can turn hard content into something trivial....

Because of this, and due to the fact that Destiny 2’s new Season of the Lost is one with a lot of Unstoppable Champions, Unstoppable mods and weapon categories associated with them are seeing a lot of use. Fusion rifles and linear fusion rifles are the prime examples, as they have long been overlooked for the most part in both PVE and PVP, but now they are being used a lot more thanks to the Unstoppable mod they got, but also thanks to the buffs and changes made to them....

While the quest for Revision Zero does have an update this week, it is no longer part of the main story of Season of the Seraph. Instead, players will help Ana Bray investigate a new potential lead that may help in the process to restore Rasputin. However, it should be noted that there have been rumors, theories, and leaks about Season 15 being set in the Dreaming City over the past few months, and it would make sense because of the infamous 15th Wish that never truly happened in the past. The Dreaming City could be the best place to have the story initiated with Beyond Light to come full circle, as Crow could finally be reunited with his long-lost sister, even though he doesn’t even know who she is to him, and Mara Sov could return to her throne....

Also within the Grasp of Avarice dungeon is a Destiny 2 mission called “The Richest Dead Man Alive.” For this, players have to find all of Willhelm-7’s audio messages left to get the Vidmaster title.
