For 2022, Bungie has made a number of tweaks to the event through three new playlists called Recreational, Training, and Competitive. Essentially, this is Bungie’s way of bringing back the fan favorite strike scoring system from the original Destiny, perhaps as a precursor to bringing it back in full....
In various posts on the Destiny 2 subreddit, players have begun posting screenshots of consumable items received after dismantling the newly added Scatterhorn armor or one of the weapons like the Trackless Waste. One user posted an image of a glimmer extractor consumable called Rainmaker. Once used, any multi kills have a chance at creating a shower of glimmer for the next four hours. Considering Bungie was previously the developer of the Halo franchise, many fans have already compared this consumable to that of the Grunt Birthday party skull which would cause confetti to erupt from an enemy’s body along with the cheers of children following a headshot....
With the three classes, Hunter, Warlock, and Titan, each class has its unique exotics in Destiny 2. Whether they are used for fashion, PvP, or PvE, each one has usefulness. However, only some exotics can be the very best exotic armor, and only one piece can be equipped at a time. In its weekly blog, Bungie announced that the next two weeks of Destiny 2 will go without Trials of the Nine while the developers work on a fix to the problem caused by an emote bug. Bungie says that a fix to the issue is expected during the first week of November, with Trials of the Nine currently scheduled to return on November 3. Players discovered the bug this past weekend, which centers around the “Bureaucratic Walk” emote....

Since its launch, Eververse has been a contentious part of the Destiny 1 and Destiny 2 ecosystem, and frustrations with the microtransaction store only exacerbated with the recent Dawning event. Players felt like Bungie was using Bright Engrams and Eververse to serve as new content, without actually giving players much to actually do. Moreover, many felt like Bungie was encouraging players to spend money on Eververse if they wanted to collect all of the enticing Dawning armor and items....
In spite of the hugely influential titles that it’s responsible for, though, Bungie hasn’t produced any new IPs aside from Halo and Destiny. It’s taken its time expanding outside of these series. Destiny 2 Community Manager dmg04 confirmed the news on the game’s subreddit, hoping to get ahead of any community frustrations before the first Friday of Season of Dawn. YouTuber ZaziNombies ventured to make the powerful exotic hand cannon, which causes the opponents it strikes to explode and die, out of the popular building toys. Comprised of several different kinds of LEGO bricks, sticks, and small rubber bands, ZaziNombies’ version of the Destiny 2 magnum aurum is completely operational, though it can only fire darts rather than actual chunks of the sun. The LEGO Sunshot creation was made using approximately 550 bricks in gold chrome, gold, white, as well as sticker sheet borders to make the black engraved star constellation that embellishes the handle and barrel of the weapon....
Due to some unintended damage numbers within Destiny 2 activities, Bungie had to restrict the use of the Lightfall Exotic, Quicksilver Storm. While this was disabled for Raids, Dungeons, Crucibles, and Gambit, players can capitalize on it in any content starting today. The most recent hotfix 6.2.0.3 is live right now, where players can update the game with a 200 MB patch on Steam. The fixes include multiple tweaks to minor bugs from King’s Fall, Warlock’s Arc subclass, and more....
Looking at the number of sunset weapons vs the number of new weapons in Destiny 2, Guardians may conclude that they are getting more new weapons than they are losing from sunsetting. Meanwhile, Guardians are noticing that while they are getting more weapons, most of these new weapons are in the Energy slot. This means that many of the new weapons from Season of the Chosen cannot be used together, since they occupy the same slot....
Smith surprisingly doesn’t go into detail about why Trials of the Nine doesn’t work. He does imply, however, that just wasn’t particularly successful. While Trials of the Nine had “begun to decline in Destiny 1,” Smith explains that Bungie only made the problem worse in Destiny 2. That’s partly due to Bungie’s focus on bringing in new players, simplifying the game, and making sure “it felt like a sequel.” But Trials of the Nine ultimately “didn’t work the way we’d hoped,” with Smith also writing, “If I could turn back time, I’d challenge us to do many things differently....
By now most Destiny 2 players should be familiar with which missions are the fastest, but in case they aren’t one fan has put together a helpful rundown. On average, the fastest missions take less than 5 minutes to complete, with others taking a little more. Each day, the Daily Heroic Story Mission launcher gives players 5 missions to choose from. These missions are selected from all across Destiny 2 content, starting with the base campaign and ending with Forsaken content....
But why is Trials of Osiris so popular among veteran fans of Destiny 2 and the original Destiny? The Trials of Osiris was very much the pinnacle PvP competition in Destiny 1, and the weekly PvP event often drew attention back to Destiny even during content droughts. But with an injection of new players to the franchise thanks to the free-to-play Destiny 2: New Light, there are bound to be newcomers who have never really known the story behind Trials of Osiris....
The HELM is a new hub area that can be found on the Tower in Destiny 2. Players need to travel it to through the map, and they will find it in the upper portion of the Tower. It’s hard to miss, but even so, some players may not know how to get back to it after they visit it as part of the new Destiny 2 Season 13 story content....
In addition to acquisitions, fans also got plenty of new details on The Witch Queen. This week focused on the upcoming Crafting feature, how it works, and what Destiny 2 players will need when they visit The Relic on Mars. Foundry weapons are also making a return and the studio is also buffing a ton of gear, both Legendary and Exotic, to help make them more viable in all phases of the game....
Bungie also confirmed that the next exotic weapon quest is set to kick off next reset on July 2. While the studio didn’t go into too much detail, it was revealed that the Lumina quest will begin somewhere in the European Dead Zone. There’s also a rumor that the exotic quest will eventually unlock one of the weapons of sorrow known as Rose. Before the latest exotic finally arrives next week, there’s a new set of exotics up for purchase curtesy of Destiny 2’s weekend merchant Xur....
While Bungie did not go into great detail, as to not spoil anything coming in the Destiny 2 expansion, nor did it directly address if the pyramid ships would appear in Shadowkeep, Principle Producer Scott Taylor did say that Shadowkeep will push the game’s narrative forward: The narrative momentum of Destiny 2 has commonly been a complaint among fans who feel like both Destiny and Destiny 2 began narrative threads that have never been answered or paid off....
Each week, the Heroic Strike playlist receives a weekly Singe modifier that is persistent until the next weekly reset in Destiny 2. This increases incoming and outgoing damage of a particular elemental type. In addition, two more modifiers—one which provides the player with an advantage, and another that adds a disadvantage—refresh each day. The recommended Power level for the Heroic Strikes playlist is 350 and about every 4th strike players can expect to get a drop that scales up to power level 360....
