In fact, Bungie recently gave players a small glimpse at next week’s hotfix notes, specifically with regards to changes to Deepsight Weapon Patterns. While fans have been criticizing the drop rate of Season of Plunder Deepsight weapons, Bungie is fixing two seasonal upgrades which should significantly help. Double Perk Weapon Spoils Crew Upgrade will now drop a Deepsight weapon pattern for the first weapon focus each week while Hidden Compartment Crew Upgrade properly refreshes during the weekly reset.

For now, players will have a selection of exotics to pick from thanks to the weekend merchant Xur arriving in Destiny 2 for the next few days. Follow this guide for his most current weekend location, news on his exotic cipher quest, as well as a review of all the exotic and legendary gear he’s brought for the weekend of September 30, 2022.

Where is Xur?

This weekend, Destiny 2 players can find Xur back inside the Tower hangar.

Fast travel to the Winding Cove zone and immediately head towards the back where the Fallen typically patrol. Climb the cliffs back here to find Xur standing on a ledge not too far from a crashed ship.

Class Armor and Exotic Cipher

Xur’s role continues to offer the usual weekly quests, exotics, and legendary gear. Not only are these quests required to purchase a second fated engram, but they’re necessary to acquire legacy exotic gear from the Tower kiosk. Players can earn a new cipher by completing strikes and winning crucible or gambit matches. Gain bonus points for playing with clan mates or finishing more challenging activities.

Xur continues to sell even more gear outside his usual content. In addition to his normal exotic gear, Xur now has Legendary Weapons and Armor for sale in exchange for Legendary Shards and Glimmer.

Exotic Armor

Astrocyte Verse - Warlock helmet

The Astrocyte Verse helmet is a solid if unspectacular movement focused exotic, similar to the St0MP-EE5 Hunter Boots or Lion Rampant Titan Boots.

Its exotic perk is called Move to Survive, and it allows Blink Warlocks to use the jumping motion more frequently and at a further distance. In addition, weapons ready quicker out of Blink and the Radar remains active. Obviously, this isn’t going to be a top tier exotic piece for warlocks as there are much better combat oriented armor. While the roll is pretty good, this is a very ability specific exotic, so for those that don’t use Blink, there’s really no reason to purchase this.

Void Enhanced. Stat Values:

Mobility +18 Resilience +7 Recovery +8 Discipline +16 Intellect +7 Strength +9

St0mp-EE5 - Hunter leg armor

Also known as the Stompies, these are purely movement based exotics for Hunters. Its intrinsic perk, Hydraulic Boosters, increase player sprint speed and slide distance. In addition, this exotic further improves High Jump, Strafe Jump, and Triple Jump.

For platform heavy activities like Raids or exotic/PvE quests that involve a lot of movement and jumping, these boots can be a lifesaver. While there are much better options for more combat specific modes such as Crucible, the St0mp-EE5 should absolutely be a part of any Hunter’s armor rotation.

Arc Enhanced. Stat Values:

Mobility +4 Resilience +22 Recovery +6 Discipline +12 Intellect +2 Strength +16

Dunemarchers - Titan leg armor

Dunemarchers are back in stock for Titan players this weekend. Linear Actuators increase the player’s sprint speed and also builds up a static charge. When using a melee attack on an opponent, the charge is released and chains damage to all nearby enemies. While these are a fun exotic to mess around with, their actual utility may vary from person to person, but they can cause some pretty big damage when paired with certain Titan subclasses, especially with reworked versions like Arc 3.0 Strikers or Solar Sunbreakers.

However, even with an impressive 26 Resilience, the Dunemarchers this week end up having the lowest total stat numbers, though for melee happy Titans, this may be worth a look.

Arc Enhanced. Stat Values:

Mobility +7 Resilience +26 Recovery +2 Discipline 12 Intellect +2 Strength +12

Exotic Weapon

Originally introduced inside of the Forsaken expansion, the Cerberus+1 is an auto rifle that acts more like a shotgun. The reason for this is due to its intrinsic perk called Four-Headed Dog which causes the gun to shoot erratic bullets from all four gun barrels when fired. However, the players gains a bit more control over where these shots go thanks to its exotic trait, Spread Shot Package. Aiming the weapon reduces the projectile spread.

For most players, the Cerberus is a fun weapon to play around with, though it behaves more like a fully automatic shotgun using primary ammo. As expected, this weapon has not accurate at range, but is more than capable at shredding enemies who get too close. In the game’s current meta, this isn’t a required weapon to own, but it’s fun to mess around with, especially when clearing large groups of enemies.

Additional perks:

Rifled Barrel Fluted Barrel Full Bore

Hawkmoon and Dead Man’s Tale Rolls

Since Season 16 removed the Presage and Harbinger exotic missions, Xur is also selling both Hawkmoon and Dead Man’s Tale with randomized rolls. Players should visit him each weekend as he’ll be carrying different rolls.

Hawkmoon Rolls:

Arrowhead Break Alloy Magazine Quickdraw Combat Grip
