However, the studio has provided a small glimpse at the future, with this week’s blog post highlighting upcoming changes to the Deepsight weapon and crafting feature. Both systems have their flaws and thanks to continued player feedback, Bungie announced a number of major changes to improve it. This includes more opportunities to earn crafting currencies and level weapons as well as removing the Deepsight feature from dropping with weapons that can’t actually be crafted.

While those changes aren’t expected until Lightfall launches next year, players can get their new weapon fix right now as the weekend merchant Xur is back again in Destiny 2 for a limited time. Follow this guide for his most current weekend location, news on his exotic cipher quest, as well as a review of all the exotic and legendary gear he’s brought for the weekend of October 28, 2022.

Where is Xur?

This weekend, players can hunt for Xur on Nessus in his familiar tree.

From the Director, head to Nessus and load into Watcher’s Grave. Run towards the back of the zone where a massive tree is found. Jump up until players find the huge branch where the merchant is hanging out.

Class Armor and Exotic Cipher

Xur’s role continues to offer the usual weekly quests, exotics, and legendary gear. Not only are these quests required to purchase a second fated engram, but they’re necessary to acquire legacy exotic gear from the Tower kiosk. Players can earn a new cipher by completing strikes and winning crucible or gambit matches. Gain bonus points for playing with clan mates or finishing more challenging activities.

Xur continues to sell even more gear outside his usual content. In addition to his normal exotic gear, Xur now has Legendary Weapons and Armor for sale in exchange for Legendary Shards and Glimmer.

Exotic Armor

Getaway Artist - Warlock gauntlets

Getaway Artist gauntlets are back in stock. Originally introduced during the Season of the Drifter, the Getaway Artist gauntlets are focused specifically for Stormcaller Warlocks. Dynamic Duo converts the arc grenade into a supercharged Arc Soul. Better yet, the Arc Soul then functions as an autonomous turret while the player also becomes Amplified.

While these weren’t typically a go-to exotic in the past, the Arc 3.0 subclass rework has definitely helped for both PvE and PvP. In fact, having the supercharged Arc Soul can cause chaos in PvP and having the Amplified buff helps Warlocks move a bit faster than normal. The roll is the lowest of the three and features high Strength and Mobility, 2 stats not typically associated with the Warlock class.

Arc Enhanced. Stat Values:

Mobility +15 Resilience +13 Recovery +3 Discipline +11 Intellect +2 Strength +19

Khepri’s Sting - Hunter gauntlets

The Egyptian scarab styled gauntlets known as Khepri’s Sting are available for Hunters this weekend. Touch of Venom is the exotic perk, and it’s entirely for Nightstalker players as it makes smoke bombs detonate instantly and not only improves the damage but grants the player Truesight as well.

While not exactly a top tier item for Hunters, these gauntlets likely won’t replace the other exotics players have come to rely on in recent seasons They’re not a required purchase this week by any stretch of the imagination, even with a pretty solid 64 stat roll.

Void Enhanced. Stat Values:

Mobility +20 Resilience +12 Recovery +2 Discipline +9 Intellect +9 Strength +12

ACD/0 Feedback Fence - Titan gauntlets

The intrinsic perk called Fury Conductors build energy when getting melee kills. Being hit by a melee attack not only reduces incoming damage and unleashes the currently stored energy in an explosion.

It may not be the best available Titan exotic, it is remains a solid choice especially for those players who enjoy PvP content. Getting punched and causing small explosions is a powerful, fun, and destructive ability to have. For those looking for a pretty good roll, the Xur version this week is pretty solid at a respectable 65 even if some of the expected stats for Titans like Resilience or Recovery aren’t the best.

Arc Enhanced. Stat Values:

Mobility +16 Resilience +8 Recovery +10 Discipline +2 Intellect +15 Strength +14

Exotic Weapon

The linear fusion rifle known as The Queenbreaker is back in stock this weekend. It allows players to pick how they want the gun to fire. Through Marksman sights, players can stack additional damage with long-range sights that also display ammo and charge levels. The tradeoff is that it takes the gun a little longer to fully charge before firing. Combat sights give the player faster charges and greater handling, though they can’t zoom in as far.

The exotic perk for this weapon is called Wire Rifle which fires a long range precision Arc bolt that blinds enemies on hit. Players can also change the sights on it which impacts charge time and damage. This is a bit of a skill weapon, so it won’t be for everyone. However, those who give it a chance will find that it’s pretty useful in the right situations, even though it requires heavy ammo.

Additional perks:

Enhanced Battery Fitted Stock Hip Fire Grip/Quickdraw

Hawkmoon and Dead Man’s Tale Rolls

Since Season 16 removed the Presage and Harbinger exotic missions, Xur is also selling both Hawkmoon and Dead Man’s Tale with randomized rolls. Players should visit him each weekend as he’ll be carrying different rolls.

Hawkmoon Rolls:

Arrowhead Break Alloy Magazine Eye of the Storm Textured Grip

Dead Man’s Tale

Polygonal Rifling Accurized Rounds Vorpal Weapon Hand-Laid Stock
