However, the event wasn’t quite what fans were hoping for. While players ended up finding the most optimal way to farm Captain’s Coins, the community was actually able to speed run the event and complete it in roughly 25 hours. A glitch essentially let players donate infinite amounts of Map Coordinates to the cause, smashing the donation requirements needed to complete the Eliksni Quarter Rebuild event.

In the meantime, the weekend merchant Xur is back again in Destiny 2 for a limited time. Follow this guide for his most current weekend location, news on his exotic cipher quest, as well as a review of all the exotic and legendary gear he’s brought for the weekend of November 25, 2022.

Where is Xur?

The next few days, Xur can be found overlooking the mountains at the Twoer Hangar.

After loading into The Tower, head to the left down into the Hangar. Down the stairs, take another left and go beyond where the Dead Orbit faction used to be. Xur can be found on the metal platform overlooking the mountains.

Class Armor and Exotic Cipher

Xur’s role continues to offer the usual weekly quests, exotics, and legendary gear. Not only are these quests required to purchase a second fated engram, but they’re necessary to acquire legacy exotic gear from the Tower kiosk. Players can earn a new cipher by completing strikes and winning crucible or gambit matches. Gain bonus points for playing with clan mates or finishing more challenging activities.

Xur continues to sell even more gear outside his usual content. In addition to his normal exotic gear, Xur now has Legendary Weapons and Armor for sale in exchange for Legendary Shards and Glimmer.

Exotic Armor

Apotheosis Veil - Warlock helmet

The Apotheosis Veil is an alright support exotic that isn’t dependent on subclass. It comes with the exotic perk Insatiable, which immediately regenerates the player’s health, melee, grenade, and rift energy when activating their super. Nearby allies also recharge class abilities faster as well.

It’s likely not great in all situations, but it could come in handy when playing difficult activities or even in competitive PvP modes. It may not replace the standard go to exotics for Warlocks, but could be worth a look for some players. The stat roll this week is a solid 63.

Arc Enhanced. Stat Values:

Mobility +6 Resilience +9 Recovery +17 Discipline +2 Intellect +13 Strength +16

Celestial Nighthawk - Hunter helmet

It’s been a while but the powerful Celestial Nighthawk is back on sale for Hunters who prefer Golden Gun. Its intrinsic perk is Hawkeye Hack which modifies the Golden Gun to fire a single, high damage shot. Enemies killed by the shot explode, and the player gets a moderate portion of super energy returned.

For those who care about dealing huge amounts of damage, the Nighthawk remains a top tier exotic. While not great at crowd clearing or taking out multiple players in the crucible, this exotic remains a must have for some of the more difficult activities like Nightfalls and Raids. Hunter players will be doling out massive damage to bosses, which also makes this a great item to take on the Grandmaster Nightfall activities. The roll is alright, the lowest of the three but still coming in at 62.

Solar Enhanced. Stat Values:

Mobility +3 Resilience +15 Recovery +16 Discipline +6 Intellect +15 Strength +7

One-Eyed Mask - Titan helmet

At one point, this was the go to exotic for all things PvP and Crucible related for Titans. In fact, it quickly became a scourge for Hunter and Warlock classes, so much so, that Bungie ultimately nerfed the popular One-Eyed Mask making it not quite as effective as it once was. Still, this class-neutral item is still valuable, just not on the level it once was.

The reason this item is a great Crucible item is due to its perk Vengeance. Any enemy that damages the wearer becomes highlighted and if the player can kill the marked player, they get an overshield. Like Warlocks, the roll this week also comes in at a 63.

Void Enhanced. Stat Values:

Mobility +12 Resilience +17 Recovery +3 Discipline +20 Intellect +2 Strength +9

Exotic Weapon

This week features the Wardcliff Coil rocket launcher with its unique firing mechanics. Mad Scientist allows this weapon to fire a volley of rockets instead of just one at a time like the others. Volatile Launch goes even further to make this weapon even more explosive by greatly increasing blast radius and slightly decreasing handling speed and projectile speed.

For newer players, this is a great PvE weapon, so it’s an easy recommend this week as rocket launchers remain a solid power choice. Either way, this weapon in particular remains incredibly strong in PvE activities, especially against bosses. However, with alternative options like Gjallarhorn, the Wardcliff may have been upstaged as players may likely opt to use that one in the heavy slot instead.

Since Season 16 removed the Presage and Harbinger exotic missions, Xur is also selling both Hawkmoon and Dead Man’s Tale with randomized rolls. Players should visit him each weekend as he’ll be carrying different rolls.
