In the weekly blog, Bungie detailed its plans for improving the Crucible, an area that many fans have been begging for an update. The studio revealed plans to introduce a new Crucible seal, focus engrams at Shaxx, updates to matchmaking, new maps, as well as introduce ways to earn older armor sets for Crucible, Iron Banner, and more. These updates represent a long term plan so players will be seeing these updates starting in season 19 and throughout 2023.

As expected, players can get their new weapon fix right now as the weekend merchant Xur is back again in Destiny 2 for a limited time. Follow this guide for his most current weekend location, news on his exotic cipher quest, as well as a review of all the exotic and legendary gear he’s brought for the weekend of November 18, 2022.
Where is Xur?
Over this weekend, players can track Xur back inside of the European Dead Zone in his usual spot overlooking the Winding Cove.
Fast travel to the Winding Cove zone and immediately head towards the back where the Fallen typically patrol. Climb the cliffs back here to find Xur standing on a ledge not too far from a crashed ship.
Class Armor and Exotic Cipher
Xur’s role continues to offer the usual weekly quests, exotics, and legendary gear. Not only are these quests required to purchase a second fated engram, but they’re necessary to acquire legacy exotic gear from the Tower kiosk. Players can earn a new cipher by completing strikes and winning crucible or gambit matches. Gain bonus points for playing with clan mates or finishing more challenging activities.
Xur continues to sell even more gear outside his usual content. In addition to his normal exotic gear, Xur now has Legendary Weapons and Armor for sale in exchange for Legendary Shards and Glimmer.
Exotic Armor
Chromatic Fire - Warlock chest armor
The Chromatic Fire armor is back on sale this week. Its perk, Crystalline Transistor, causes an explosion, in the element of the player’s equipped subclass, after a kinetic precision kill. Having lots of enemies in a tight spot really maximizes the elemental damage. For PvP players, other guardians have mentioned that this armor is good when using particular weapons that cause explosions like Ace of Spades.
Unfortunately, the biggest knock this week is the poor stat roll, only coming in at a 59 total. As such, it’s safe to skip.
Arc Enhanced. Stat Values:
Mobility +6 Resilience +12 Recovery +13 Discipline +12 Intellect +7 Strength +9
Lucky Pants - Hunter leg armor
The Lucky Pants are back in stock this week, an exotic that has seen an uptick in usage thanks to some of the changes made back in Season 15. Its intrinsic perk, Illegally Modded Holster, loads one round into the chamber of stowed hand cannons after a precision hit. In addition, hand cannons ready faster and have a bonus to accuracy after switching to them, which make these very useful for all the Hand Cannons that Destiny 2 has.
Overall, Hunters get the best roll this week at a 64 total and the stats themselves are pretty even across the board. It’s a really solid roll so for those who enjoy hand cannons, this may be a solid pickup this week.
Arc Enhanced. Stat Values:
Mobility +9 Resilience +10 Recovery +15 Discipline +9 Intellect +10 Strength +11
An Insurmountable Skullfort - Titan helmet
Two months later and the An Insurmountable Skullfort is back again. As usual, it’s a perfect compliment to players who favor close quarters. Transfusion Matrix is its intrinsic perk which triggers health regeneration and restores melee energy after getting a kill with an arc melee ability.
This is a solid choice, especially with the recent Arc 3.0 update in both PvE and PvP for Striker Titans. Unfortunately, the stat roll continues to be a weak spot, especially for players who want solid Recovery and Resilience, something that this version of the exotic lacks.
Void Enhanced. Stat Values:
Mobility +19 Resilience +8 Recovery +3 Discipline +2 Intellect +19 Strength +10
Exotic Weapon
For the third time in just a few months, the Queenbreaker is back. It allows players to pick how they want the gun to fire. Through Marksman sights, players can stack additional damage with long-range sights that also display ammo and charge levels. The tradeoff is that it takes the gun a little longer to fully charge before firing. Combat sights give the player faster charges and greater handling, though they can’t zoom in as far.
The exotic perk for this weapon is called Wire Rifle which fires a long range precision Arc bolt that blinds enemies on hit. Players can also change the sights on it which impacts charge time and damage. This is a bit of a skill weapon, so it won’t be for everyone. However, those who give it a chance will find that it’s pretty useful in the right situations, even though it requires heavy ammo.
Additional perks:
Enhanced Battery Fitted Stock Hip Fire Grip/Quickdraw
Hawkmoon and Dead Man’s Tale Rolls
Since Season 16 removed the Presage and Harbinger exotic missions, Xur is also selling both Hawkmoon and Dead Man’s Tale with randomized rolls. Players should visit him each weekend as he’ll be carrying different rolls.
Hawkmoon Rolls:
Corkscrew Rifling Alloy Magazine Snapshot Sights Smooth Grip
Dead Man’s Tale
Arrowhead Brake Light Mag Snapshot Sights Composite Stock
