This week, Destiny 2 players can find Xur in his Earth hiding spot in the European Dead Zone. For those that may not know, Xur can be on one of the four patrol areas (EDZ, Titan, Io, Nessus) but he only has one hiding spot per destination.

His icon also appears right on the map, so simply target him and the HUD will do the rest. Even so, Xur is slightly difficult to get to up on a cliff.

Xur’s exotic armor selection this weekend includes the Young Ahamkara’s Spine gauntlets for Hunters, the Mask of the Quiet One helmet for Titans, and the Nezarec’s Sin helmet for Warlocks.

The Hunter gauntlets are nothing special since Bungie reworked how trip mine grenades function in Destiny (and Destiny 2). Moreover, an overhaul nerf to grenades makes the gauntlets less than desirable compared to most Hunter exotics.

The Mask of the Quiet One is certainly an interesting looking Titan helmet, but again its use case is fairly narrow. Getting grenade, melee, and class ability energy anytime you are damaged is useful, but a slight boost to recharge rates is nothing to write home about. But combined with the Sentinel Titan subclass, the helmet is not that bad.

The Nezarec’s Sin helmet is a lot like the Mask of the Quiet One but it only requires Void damage kills to increase ability recharge instead of Void ability kills. With a nice set of Void weapons, the helmet is not that bad. There are a few better choices out there, but not many.

Speaking of Void weapons, Xur has the Graviton Lance pulse rifle for sale this weekend. But although the Graviton Lance has a slick futuristic look to it, the weapon is really underwhelming. Its base perk makes it so the first two bullets of a three-round burst do minimal damage, but the final bullet does extra damage. So if you hit a precision shot with that last bullet it does more damage than any pulse rifle bullet can do.

The only problem is that if you miss a precision hit the damage on one bullet is not worth the damage lost on the other two. And Graviton Lance users are going to miss some shots. It’s a cool idea but not the best implementation.
