While it would be fun if Xur sold some of his exotics at a discount, past experience with Destiny 1 has shown that the Agent of the Nine is not a fan of sales. He wants full price for each item and players will need to pay up. Luckily some of this week’s items are worth the Legendary Shards, especially for those on PC.

This week, Destiny 2 players can find Xur on Io in the Giant’s Scar area. It may be a little difficult to spot Xur, even with the objective tracked, but look for a cave tucked off to the left side of the environment. Xur will be in there ready to sell his exotic wares.

 

Xur’s exotic armor this week includes the Lucky Pants boots for Hunters, the Mask of the Quiet One helmet for Titans, and the Starfire Protocol chest piece for Warlocks.

On PC we might say the Lucky Pants are worth picking up and using because hand cannons are a lot more accurate and viable on that platform. But on console it’s hard to see any Hunter investing in an exotic that is meant to make hand cannons better when they struggle to compete in PvP.

Those Titans that like to run the Sentinel Subclass will find the Mask of the Quiet One is a very useful exotic for two reasons. First, the helmet grants energy to all abilities (class, grenade, and melee) any time the player is damage. And second, if a player gets a kill with a void ability, the helmet triggers health regeneration.

Starfire Protocol is a returning exotic chest piece from Destiny 1 but it’s not nearly as useful as in the first game. Since fusion grenades are not a one-hit, kill having an extra one doesn’t really make a huge difference in PvP or PvE.

Xur is selling the exotic fusion rifle Merciless for the second time since Destiny 2’s launch and we can’t recommend the weapon enough. It is easily one of the best exotic weapons in the game and is very useful when it comes to damaging a single target like a raid boss or strike boss. A PC player missed out on the opportunity to pick up Merciless when it was sold early on, but now is their chance. And don’t miss it.
