Considering that it’s also Xur Day for Destiny 2 players, certain exotics have also been in the news as of late, mainly due to the fact that Bungie is disabling them from use within The Vow of the Disciple. Specifically, heavy exotics like the Wardcliff Coil rocket launcher and the brand-new machine gun Grand Overture won’t be available for use, alongside legendary weapons Imperial Needle and IKELOS_SMG_V1.0.2. The Wormgod Caress and Peregrine Greaves exotic armor is also being benched for now as well.

With that said, Destiny 2 players may want to drop by Xur this weekend for a look at his exotic wares, even if the rolls continue to be lower than expected. As always, follow this guide for his most current weekend location, news on his exotic cipher quest, as well as a review of all the exotic and legendary gear he’s brought for the weekend of March 4, 2022.

Where is Xur?

This weekend, players can find Xur back inside the Tower Hangar.

As usual, fast travel to the main Tower location and head left into the Hangar. Once there, take another left and move past the Dead Orbit section to find a metal staircase. Move up the stairs to find Xur on a platform overlooking the mountain range off in the distance.

Class Armor and Exotic Cipher

Xur’s role continues to offer the usual weekly quests, exotics, and legendary gear. Not only are these quests required to purchase a second fated engram, but they’re necessary to acquire legacy exotic gear from the Tower kiosk. Players can earn a new cipher by completing strikes and winning crucible or gambit matches. Gain bonus points for playing with clanmates or finishing more challenging activities.

Xur continues to sell even more gear outside his usual content. In addition to his normal exotic gear, Xur now has Legendary Weapons and Armor for sale in exchange for Legendary Shards and Glimmer.

Exotic Armor

Getaway Artist - Warlock gauntlets

It’s been a while, but the Getaway Artist gauntlets are back on sale. Originally introduced during the Season of the Drifter, the Getaway Artist gauntlets are focused on Stormcaller Warlocks. Dynamic Duo converts the arc grenade into a supercharged Arc Soul. Better yet, the Arc Soul then functions as an autonomous turret.

Perhaps when the Arc 3.0 subclass redesign becomes available, these exotics will be improved as well. FOr now, they remain out of the meta and players can safely avoid them this week with the poor stat roll.

Arc Enhanced. Stat Values:

Mobility +6 Resilience +7 Recovery +11 Discipline +12 Intellect +6 Strength +6

Sealed Ahamkara Grasps - Hunter gauntlets

Originally on sale back in November, the Sealed Ahamkara Grasps remain an underrated exotic especially when paired with a certain subclass like the Gunslinger Way of a Thousand Cuts. Nightmare Fuel reloads the player’s currently equipped weapon after melee damage.

By using Way of a Thousand Cuts, Hunters can ensure that they always have ammo ready. Throwing the burning knives causes significant melee damage and each burn tick of damage will reload the equipped gun. Killing the burning enemy procs the Playing with Fire perk, which essentially recharges the melee attack giving the player a nearly unlimited supply of reloads as long as they hit and kill the target.

Arc Enhanced. Stat Values:

Mobility +7 Resilience +11 Recovery +6 Discipline +6 Intellect +2 Strength +16

One-Eyed Mask - Titan helmet

At one point, this was the go to exotic for all things PvP and Crucible related for Titans. In fact, it quickly became a scourge for Hunter and Warlock classes, so much so, that Bungie ultimately nerfed the popular One-Eyed Mask making it not quite as effective as it once was. Still, this class-neutral item is still valuable even if the roll this week isn’t great.

The reason this item is a great Crucible item is due to its perk Vengeance. Any enemy that damages the wearer becomes highlighted and if the player can kill the marked player, they get an overshield. Unfortunately, the stat roll issue continues, so fans will likely want to avoid picking this up for now.

Void Enhanced. Stat Values:

Mobility +6 Resilience +7 Recovery +13 Discipline +6 Intellect +6 Strength +10

Exotic Weapon

The Merciless fusion rifle is back on sale this weekend. For those who missed it, it is a heavy weapon that has high damage output, especially against a single target. It’s a solid choice regardless of the mode, though Nightfalls and strikes make it a powerful choice.

Conserve Momentum continually charges the weapon faster when players get non-lethal hits, with the cycle resetting once the final kill is achieved. Pair that with its other perk, Impetus, players gain increased damage for a short time after quickly reloading following a kill.

Additional perks:

Chambered Compensator Extended Mag Fitted Stock

Hawkmoon and Dead Man’s Tale Rolls

Since Season 16 removed the Presage and Harbinger exotic missions, Xur is also selling both Hawkmoon and Dead Man’s Tale with randomized rolls. Players should visit him each weekend as he’ll be carrying different rolls.

Hawkmoon Rolls:

Polygonal Rifling Alloy Magazine Quickdraw Combat Grip
