However, there has been a number of hiccups during the first Iron Banner event, including odd bugs that interrupt matches to glitches that have impeded player progress with ranking up and earning triumphs. The mode also features daily challenges and ranking system to match other vendors, though some have pointed out a few issues with the new system including the fact that Destiny 2 players will have to abandon certain builds in order to really take advantage of the rank increase.

Those looking for some exotics now have their chance as the weekend merchant Xur is finally back in Destiny 2. Follow this guide for his most current weekend location, news on his exotic cipher quest, as well as a review of all the exotic and legendary gear he’s brought for the weekend of June 3, 2022.

Where is Xur?

This weekend, Xur has landed back on Nessus.

From the Director, head to Nessus and load into Watcher’s Grave. Run towards the back of the zone where a massive tree is found. Jump up until players find the huge branch where the merchant is hanging out.

Class Armor and Exotic Cipher

Xur’s role continues to offer the usual weekly quests, exotics, and legendary gear. Not only are these quests required to purchase a second fated engram, but they’re necessary to acquire legacy exotic gear from the Tower kiosk. Players can earn a new cipher by completing strikes and winning crucible or gambit matches. Gain bonus points for playing with clanmates or finishing more challenging activities.

Xur continues to sell even more gear outside his usual content. In addition to his normal exotic gear, Xur now has Legendary Weapons and Armor for sale in exchange for Legendary Shards and Glimmer.

Exotic Armor

Astrocyte Verse - Warlock helmet

The Astrocyte Verse helmet is a solid if unspectacular movement focused exotic, similar to the St0mp-EE5 Hunter Boots or Lion Rampant Titan Boots.

Its exotic perk is called Move to Survive, and it allows Blink Warlocks to use the jumping motion more frequently and at a further distance. In addition, weapons ready quicker out of Blink and the Radar remains active. Obviously, this isn’t going to be a top tier exotic piece for warlocks as there are much better combat oriented armor. For players who like using blink and need a bit of help with platforming focused activities in Destiny 2, it’s a must-have.

Void Enhanced. Stat Values:

Mobility +3 Resilience +16 Recovery +11 Discipline +7 Intellect +14 Strength +9

Oathkeeper - Hunter gauntlet

For those who enjoy using Bows, the Oathkeeper gauntlets may be a viable option. While they’re certainly not exciting or flashy, Adamantine Brace is the intrinsic perk which allows bow charges to be held indefinitely. While it may not sound exciting on paper, what some players may overlook is that the bonus damage granted for immediately firing after fully drawing the bow is actually held indefinitely until fired.

For non-bow using players, this exotic doesn’t have much value. Worse yet, the stat roll is under 60 and the lowest of the trio this week.

Arc Enhanced. Stat Values:

Mobility +3 Resilience +10 Recovery +17 Discipline +9 Intellect +8 Strength +12

Ashen Wake - Titan gauntlet

While this exotic is normally not something to get overly excited about, Titans may want to take another look at these gauntlets this time around. The Ashen Wake gauntlets, while they were improved last year inside of of Bungie’s sandbox changes made to the game, can be particular fun when paired with the Grenedier perk.

Bring the Heat makes fusion grenades explode on impact and gives the player increased throw speed. Considering the newly added Solar 3.0 subclass rework, these exotics may be a bit more desirable than they were previously. Ultimately though, they remain largely situational and are not for everyone.

Solar Enhanced. Stat Values:

Mobility +9 Resilience +8 Recovery +18 Discipline +13 Intellect +2 Strength +14

Exotic Weapon

It’s been nearly two years, but the one-time Destiny 2 pre-order exotic Coldheart is now available with Xur. Coldheart fires a beam of cold energy thanks to its exotic perk Cold Fusion. When combined with its other perk, called Longest Winter, the beam does increased damage the longer it remains on a target.

Trace Rifles got a boost in Season 17 and considering this is a fun weapon to use, it may be worth a look. It’s capable of eating through boss characters and better yet, there are seasonal mods that further enhance its power. For those that don’t have it, Coldheart is worth the shards this week.

Additional perks:

Linear Compensator High Velocity Rounds Composite Stock

Hawkmoon and Dead Man’s Tale Rolls

Since Season 16 removed the Presage and Harbinger exotic missions, Xur is also selling both Hawkmoon and Dead Man’s Tale with randomized rolls. Players should visit him each weekend as he’ll be carrying different rolls.

Hawkmoon Rolls:

Polygonal Rifling Alloy Magazine Hip-Fire Grip Textured Grip

Dead Man’s Tale

Arrowhead Brake Light Mag Vorpal Weapon Fitted Stock
