This past week, while the final week of the extended Season of the Lost, also finally brought about the finale event. A new matchmade activity called Exorcism let 6 players discover the final segment of this season’s narrative. With Savathun awaiting Queen Mara and her Techeun’s attempting to remove the worm inside her, Savathun’s sister Xivu Arath invades in an effort to stop the extraction from taking place. It’s up to players to defend Mara in order to see the process through.

With only days left in the season, this weekend is the final time Xur will be available in Destiny 2 prior to the Witch Queen. As always, follow this guide for his most current weekend location, news on his exotic cipher quest, as well as a review of all the exotic gear he’s brought for the weekend of February 18, 2022.

Where is Xur?

This weekend, players can track Xur back inside of the European Dead Zone in his usual spot overlooking the Winding Cove.

Fast travel to the Winding Cove zone and immediately head towards the back where the Fallen typically patrol. Climb the cliffs back here to find Xur standing on a ledge not too far from a crashed ship.

Class Armor and Exotic Cipher

In Season of the Lost, Xur’s role has expanded as the exotic merchant has weekly quests, exotics, and legendary gear. Not only are these quests required to purchase a second fated engram, but they’re necessary to acquire legacy exotic gear from the Tower kiosk. Players can earn a new cipher by completing strikes and winning crucible or gambit matches. Gain bonus points for playing with clanmates or finishing more challenging activities.

With Season 15, Xur is now selling even more gear outside his usual content. In addition to his normal exotic gear, Xur now has Legendary Weapons and Armor for sale in exchange for Legendary Shards and Glimmer. Better yet, the stat rolls are pretty solid on the Black Armor gear for this week.

Exotic Armor

Astrocyte Verse - Warlock helmet

The Astrocyte Verse helmet is a solid if unspectacular movement focused exotic, similar to the St0MP-EE5 Hunter Boots or Lion Rampant Titan Boots.

It’s exotic perk is called Move to Survive and it allows Blink Warlocks to use the jumping motion more frequently and at a further distance. In addition, weapons ready quicker out of Blink and the Radar remains active. Obviously, this isn’t going to be a top tier exotic piece for warlocks as there are much better combat oriented armor. For players who like using blink and need a bit of help with platforming focused activities in Destiny 2, it’s a must-have.

Compared to the other two exotic gear pieces, this roll comes in at the highest at 66 total. While some may lament the fact that recovery is extremely low, the high stats alone make it worth at least checking out.

Arc Enhanced. Stat Values:

Mobility +14 Resilience +16 Recovery +3 Discipline +13 Intellect +2 Strength +18

Graviton Forfeit - Hunter helmet

While this gear was last on sale last Fall, now might be the time to investigate Graviton Forfeit as the exotic helmet got a much needed rework at the start of Season 15. When equipped, its exotic perk Vanishing Shadow gives increased bonus duration of invisibility effects and increases melee recharge speed, recovery, and weapon reload time while invisible. The melee recharge speed increases based on the number of enemies nearby.

However, with the upcoming overhaul to Void subclasses, this helmet may be worth picking up to see how well it synergizes with the Nightstalker Hunter abilities. The unfortunate element here is that the roll overall is just okay.

Arc Enhanced. Stat Values:

Mobility +17 Resilience +2 Recovery +11 Discipline +16 Intellect +14 Strength +10

Citan’s Ramparts - Titan gauntlets

With the perk Assault Barricade, it allows allies to shoot through the Titan’s Towering Barricade. The downside is that the barricade’s health and duration is lower than normal.

Naturally, this item likely won’t be for everyone as it only impacts a very small portion of the Titan player, though it can be a welcomed item for PvP activities. Not everyone uses the Towering Barricade, which makes this item useless for those players. Still, it does have its uses under the right circumstances. Howevrr, this is also a hard item to recommend due to the very low stat roll this week, coming in only at 57 in total.

Void Enhanced. Stat Values:

Mobility +7 Resilience +15 Recovery +7 Discipline +2 Intellect +2 Strength +24

Exotic Weapon

This electrically-charged bow fires an arrow that splits into three parts thanks to its perk, Split Electron. When the player aims down the sights and draws the bow all the way back, the arrow spread decreases. However, scoring a headshot will charge the next fired arrow to chain electricity between enemies close to each other. It’s generally a fun bow to use in any mode, though it really shines in PvE modes where the chain attacks have more opportunity to happen.

The bow becomes an absolute monster once players unlock the catalyst for the weapon from finishing any core Crucible, Strike, or Gambit activity. Added back in May of last year, unlocking the catalyst makes any final blow trigger the Lightning Rod perk. The bow becomes a supercharged behemoth, especially when clearing out groups of enemies. Absolutely worth picking up this week for all players.

Additional perks:

High Tension String Compact Arrow Shaft
