Even as fans continue to wait for Season 19 story details, Bungie did announce a surprise collaboration with Ubisoft. The two companies are releasing new cosmetic gear for both Destiny 2 and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, with the later getting armor based on Lord Shaxx and Saint-14 as well as skins for a mount and Eivor’s Raven. For Destiny 2, each class is getting armor inspired by the Assassin’s Creed series, futuristic versions of Altair, Eivor, and Kassandra as well as a sparrow and ghost skin.

While there’s a lot of excitement for December 6, for now, the weekend merchant Xur is back again in Destiny 2 for a limited time. Follow this guide for his most current weekend location, news on his exotic cipher quest, as well as a review of all the exotic and legendary gear he’s brought for the weekend of December 2, 2022.

Where is Xur?

This weekend, players can find Xur in the European Dead Zone in the Winding Cove zone.

Fast travel to the Winding Cove zone and immediately head towards the back where the Fallen typically patrol. Climb the cliffs back here to find Xur standing on a ledge not too far from a crashed ship.

Class Armor and Exotic Cipher

Xur’s role continues to offer the usual weekly quests, exotics, and legendary gear. Not only are these quests required to purchase a second fated engram, but they’re necessary to acquire legacy exotic gear from the Tower kiosk. Players can earn a new cipher by completing strikes and winning crucible or gambit matches. Gain bonus points for playing with clan mates or finishing more challenging activities.

Xur continues to sell even more gear outside his usual content. In addition to his normal exotic gear, Xur now has Legendary Weapons and Armor for sale in exchange for Legendary Shards and Glimmer.

Exotic Armor

Skull of Dire Ahamkara - Warlock helmet

A couple of months later and the Skull is back in stock with Xur. After proving to be a top tier choice for quite a while, Bungie felt the item was too strong and delivered a nerf that has made this helm a shadow of what it once was. Its armor perk is Actual Grandeur which not only provides additional damage resistance when casting Nova Bomb, but kills grant super energy.

Naturally, this is a Voidwalker specific armor piece, but due to recent nerfs it’s hard to recommend over some other choices that Warlocks have access to. The roll is solid thanks to a higher than average Resilience and intelligence, but it still isn’t a must own.

Arc Enhanced. Stat Values:

Mobility +9 Resilience +8 Recovery +15 Discipline +2 Intellect +14 Strength +15

Wormhusk Crown - Hunter helmet

This exotic Hunter gear used to be an easy go-to option, especially since it was handed out to players who finished the Warmind expansion campaign. Burning Souls gives a small health and shield bump to players after they dodge.

Unfortunately, the perk was deemed too powerful by Bungie, and the developer proceeded to nerf the item to modify its ability to essentially save a Hunter from death simply by dodging. While it’s nowhere near the power levels it was prior to the nerf, its still a solid option for Hunters inside the Crucible for the health boost and shield bump. It is worth noting that the Wormhusk is getting a nerf in Season 19, reducing its maximum melee damage multiplier from 7.5 to 3.5. It’ll be interesting to see just how much this impacts the item overall.

Arc Enhanced. Stat Values:

Mobility +14 Resilience +6 Recovery +11 Discipline +9 Intellect +11 Strength +12

Peregrine Greaves - Titan leg armor

It’s been a long while, but the rarely seen Peregrine Greaves are on sale this weekend. Peregrine Strike enhances all shoulder charge melee abilities to deal bonus damage when it is activated in the air.

While these boots were, at one time, a trouble spot for Bungie, getting removed for 24 hours to not impact the Garden of Salvation World First Raid, many continue to view them largely as situational. The main issue is that the wearer does need to be airborne to get the bonus and shoulder charges typically one shots enemies anyway without the extra need to be airborne. Ultimately, there are better exotics for Titans, even though the roll this week is the highest of the three with great recovery, strength, and resilience.

Void Enhanced. Stat Values:

Mobility +3 Resilience +17 Recovery +13 Discipline +9 Intellect +2 Strength +20

Exotic Weapon

Originally introduced inside of the Forsaken expansion, the Cerberus+1 is an auto rifle that acts more like a shotgun. The reason for this is due to its intrinsic perk called Four-Headed Dog which causes the gun to shoot erratic bullets from all four gun barrels when fired. However, the players gains a bit more control over where these shots go thanks to its exotic trait, Spread Shot Package. Aiming the weapon reduces the projectile spread.

For most players, the Cerberus is a fun weapon to play around with, though it behaves more like a fully automatic shotgun using primary ammo. As expected, this weapon has not accurate at range, but is more than capable at shredding enemies who get too close. In the game’s current meta, this isn’t a required weapon to own, but it’s fun to mess around with, especially when clearing large groups of enemies.

Additional perks:

Rifled Barrel Fluted Barrel Full Bore

Hawkmoon and Dead Man’s Tale Rolls

Since Season 16 removed the Presage and Harbinger exotic missions, Xur is also selling both Hawkmoon and Dead Man’s Tale with randomized rolls. Players should visit him each weekend as he’ll be carrying different rolls.

Hawkmoon Rolls:

Extended Barrel Alloy Magazine Snapshot Sights Combat Grip
