In addition to Felwtiner’s Lie, Bungie is adjusting Aggressive Frame Hand Cannons like Igneous Hammer and True Prophecy. These 120 RPM weapons have quickly become a favorite pick for PvP players, so much so that Bungie felt the need to intervene and make adjustments. In season 14, Bungie is tweaking the damage and aim assist falloff distance, reducing it between 2 and 4 meters. Essentially, this halves the buff these weapons received when Beyond Light launched and effectively cancels out on of their primary draws in the first place.

With a few weeks left in the current season, players can still take advantage of the current weapon meta as well as prepare for the arrival of the exotic gear merchant, Xur. Follow this guide for his most current weekend location, news on his exotic cypher quest, as well as a review of what he’s currently selling for the weekend of April 9, 2021 inside of Destiny 2.
Where is Xur?
This weekend, players can track down Xur on Earth inside the Winding Cove of the European Dead Zone.
Fast travel to the Winding Cove zone and immediately head towards the back where the Fallen typically patrol. Climb the cliffs back here to find Xur standing on a ledge not too far from a crashed ship.
Class Armor and Exotic Cypher
While Xur’s role is essentially the same as it was prior to the Beyond Light expansion, the exotic merchant also has weekly quests that players can acquire to unlock an exotic cypher. Not only are these required to purchase a second fated engram, but they’re necessary to acquire legacy exotic gear from the new kiosk. Players can earn a new cypher by completing strikes and winning crucible or gambit matches. Gain bonus points for playing with clanmates or finishing more challenging activities.
Other than that, here are Xur’s three gear pieces this weekend:
Felwinter’s Helm - Warlock helmet
Xur has brought back Felwinter’s Helm again. During season 10, Felwinter’s Helm was once a damage powerhouse thanks to a bug that let players proc the item’s special ability after each kill. Bungie was forced to disable the exotic in order to fix it.
Felwinter’s remains a solid exotic, though it’s not likely going to replace the traditional go to items. The item comes with the Warlord’s End perk that turns any Solar, Void, or Arc melee kill into a burst of energy that weakens nearby enemies. Finishers and elite kills make this burst stronger through a bigger radius and longer debuff.
Void Enhanced. Stat Values:
Mobility +9 Resilience +14 Recovery +7 Discipline +16 Intellect +7 Strength +8
Wormhusk Crown - Hunter helmet
This exotic Hunter gear used to be an easy go-to option, especially since it was handed out to players who finished the Warmind expansion campaign. Burning Souls gives a small health and shield boost to players after they dodge.
Unfortunately, the perk was deemed too powerful by Bungie, and the developer proceeded to nerf the item to modify its ability to essentially save a Hunter from death simply by dodging. While it’s no where near the power levels it was prior to the nerf, its still a solid option for Hunters inside the Crucible for the health boost. Thankfully, the roll on this item is pretty good, especially for Crucible fans so the helm is a solid pickup.
Void Enhanced. Stat Values:
Mobility +15 Resilience +10 Recovery +7 Discipline +2 Intellect +15 Strength +14
MK 44 Stand Asides - Titan leg armor
Originally introduced inside of Curse of Osiris, the Mk. 44 Stand Asides are for Titans who like to run. Seriously, Watch Out is the armor perk on this exotic gear and with it, players get an overshield while sprinting with Seismic Strike, Hammer Strike, or Shield Bash equipped. In addition, hits with these abilities recharge a portion of the player’s melee energy.
The value of these boots are based entirely on play style. They’re certainly not the best option out there, but could certainly be useful under the right circumstances. As such, they’re difficult to recommend for normal play.
Void Enhanced. Stat Values:
Mobility +19 Resilience +13 Recovery +2 Discipline +18 Intellect +9 Strength +2
Exotic Weapon
Unlike other grenade launchers in this class, The Prospector can fire its rounds as a fully automatic weapon by holding down the trigger. It’s exotic perk is called Excavation which lets players hold the trigger to fire the grenade and then release it to detonate all live grenades simultaneously. In addition, grenades can stick to surfaces and set targets on fire.
Naturally, this weapon allows players to blanket large areas with grenades before detonating them all at once. It can be a little unruly with the full auto system, but once players get the hang of it, it can lay some serious damage on enemies. It’s an older weapon but its likely that many newer players may not have it since it hasn’t been in the spotlight in quite a while. It’s worth spending the shards on.
Additional perks:
Chambered Compensator Extended Mag Fitted Stock
Here’s the complete rundown of Xur’s entire stock in Destiny 2 for April 9, 2021:
