Outside of new gear, the entire Destiny 2 sandbox is getting tweaked with the latest blog post detailing all sorts of changes and weapon balancing. In fact, the newest weapon type is also getting updated as Bungie is making tons of tweaks to Glaives. Not only are they getting stronger against PvE enemy types, Bungie is taking away the weapon’s ability to stunlock Guardians who have high health.

For now, weekend merchant Xur has arrived to Destiny 2 with a refreshed inventory of exotic and legendary gear. Follow this guide for his most current weekend location, news on his exotic cipher quest, as well as a review of all the exotic and legendary gear he’s brought for the weekend of April 22, 2022.

Where is Xur?

This weekend, players can track Xur back inside the European Dead Zone in his usual spot overlooking the Winding Cove.

Fast travel to the Winding Cove zone and immediately head towards the back where the Fallen typically patrol. Climb the cliffs back here to find Xur standing on a ledge not too far from a crashed ship.

Class Armor and Exotic Cipher

Xur’s role continues to offer the usual weekly quests, exotics, and legendary gear. Not only are these quests required to purchase a second fated engram, but they’re necessary to acquire legacy exotic gear from the Tower kiosk. Players can earn a new cipher by completing strikes and winning crucible or gambit matches. Gain bonus points for playing with clanmates or finishing more challenging activities.

Xur continues to sell even more gear outside his usual content. In addition to his normal exotic gear, Xur now has Legendary Weapons and Armor for sale in exchange for Legendary Shards and Glimmer.

Exotic Armor

Getaway Artist - Warlock gauntlets

Just on sale last month, Getaway Artist gauntlets are back in stock. Originally introduced during the Season of the Drifter, the Getaway Artist gauntlets are focused on Stormcaller Warlocks. Dynamic Duo converts the arc grenade into a supercharged Arc Soul. Better yet, the Arc Soul then functions as an autonomous turret.

Perhaps when the Arc 3.0 subclass redesign becomes available, these exotics will be improved as well. It may be worth picking up and stashing as the roll this week is solid.

Arc Enhanced. Stat Values:

Mobility +7 Resilience +20 Recovery +7 Discipline +11 Intellect +10 Strength +9

The Bombardiers - Hunter leg armor

Hunters can snag The Bombardiers this week, an exotic that was originally added to the game during the Season of the Dawn. These exotic boots come with the perk called Parting gift which leaves behind an explosive with a short fuse after dodging. Thanks to a season 15 buff that impacted a number of Destiny 2 exotics, these now have a secondary effect that happens based on the equipped subclass. Arc blinds, Solar burns, Void suppresses, and Stasis slows enemy targets.

While these were originally a tough item to recommend, the Season 15 update did make them a little more viable than before. However, while there are much better class exotics out there for Hunters, these remain a fun option to play around with. Plus, with the roll being on the low side, this is an easy item to pass on this week.

Arc Enhanced. Stat Values:

Mobility +10 Resilience +2 Recovery +16 Discipline +2 Intellect +19 Strength +9

Armamentarium - Titan chest armor

A few months later and The Armamentarium is back for Titans this week. Its exotic perk And Another Thing gives players one additional grenade charge. Unlike other exotics, this armor is easy to pair with any subclass, though it does shine brighter with specific ones.

A popular tactic with this item is to run suppressor grenades which will grant players double the power to take supers away from their enemies. It may not be exciting or flashy compared to some other exotics in the game, but it remains easy to recommend considering how valuable two grenades can be in most situations. The roll this week is pretty good and also the highest of the three armor pieces. As such, it’s worth a pickup this week.

Arc Enhanced. Stat Values:

Mobility +8 Resilience +8 Recovery +17 Discipline +15 Intellect +10 Strength +7

Exotic Weapon

The once fabled Prometheus Lens is back with Xur this week. Prismatic Inferno is its intrinsic perk which makes the weapon fire a Solar beam and generate a damaging heat field that grows while the weapon continues to fire. Its other unique perk is Flame Refraction which returns a fraction of the ammo used to the magazine from reserves, extending the beam’s duration.

While it’s nowhere near as strong as it was when it first arrived to the game, Prometheus Lens isn’t picked all that much as the go to exotic for PvP matches, but it remains a viable choice and is still fun to use in most PvE style game modes.

Additional perks:

Chambered Compensator Projection Fuse Composite Stock

Hawkmoon and Dead Man’s Tale Rolls

Since Season 16 removed the Presage and Harbinger exotic missions, Xur is also selling both Hawkmoon and Dead Man’s Tale with randomized rolls. Players should visit him each weekend as he’ll be carrying different rolls.

Hawkmoon Rolls:

Chambered Compensator Alloy Magazine Quickdraw Textured Grip
