Of course, what would a new event be without loot? For this event, players will be able to obtain unique class gear, so the Hunter’s Cloak, Titan’s Mark, and Warlock’s Bond. It’ll be outfitted in metal that not only changes from bronze, silver, and gold depending on rankings, but it’ll be locked in for the rest of the year once the Guardian Games end. In addition, the previously datamined Heir Apparent exotic machine gun will also be making its debut during the event as well.

Before the first annual Destiny Olympiad kicks off, it’s time to discuss all things Xur and to find out what the exotic merchant has brought this week for Destiny 2. Follow this guide for his location as well as a review of what he’s currently selling for the weekend of April 17, 2020.

Where is Xur?

For the next few days, players can find Xur hanging out in the Tower Hanger.

After loading into The Tower, head left and follow the path into the hangar. Stay on the ground level, run left past Jalaal’s Dead Orbit area, and find a set of starts towards the back where Xur can be found overlooking the mountains from a platform.

Class Armor

Keep in mind that the Armor 2.0 update has caused Xur’s items each week to mirror the rolls players get from pulling these items from their own Collections. As it stands, players should likely hold on to their shards if they already own the following items. Players can use the Fated Engram to pull something a little different if nothing in his inventory is appealing this week, including newer exotic items.

Here are Xur’s three gear pieces this weekend:

Crown of Tempests - Warlock helmet

For Warlocks that like to get their Palpatine on, the Crown of Tempests remains one of the best exotics for Stormtrance. It remains a top option thanks to the exotic perk Conduction Tines. With this item, any arc ability kills restores arc abilities, which includes both supers.

Naturally, the ability to quickly regenerate abilities is a huge boon for Warlocks, making this item a must own. Needless to say, wearing this item while running top tree Stormcaller remains incredibly strong in both PvE and PvP situations.

Arc Enhanced. Stat Values:

Mobility +13 Resilience +6 Recovery +7 Discipline +6 Intellect +12 Strength +6

Knucklehead Radar - Hunter helmet

Hunters gets the Knucklehead Radar helmet this week, which really lends itself to PvP modes in the Crucible. Upgraded Sensor Pack is the intrinsic perk which enhances the player’s radar when crouched and keeps it on the screen when aiming down the sights.

Useful is the best term to describe this exotic as it’s not the best option out there for Hunters, but it can be valuable in the right situations. Knowing where enemies are coming from even when aiming down the sights really comes in handy in competitive PvP modes which makes this helm is worth the asking price for those that don’t already own it.

Void Enhanced. Stat Values:

Mobility +11 Resilience +3 Recovery +10 Discipline +22 Intellect +2 Strength +2

Armamentarium - Titan chest armor

The Armamentarium is back on sale this weekend after an extended time out of the spotlight. Its exotic perk And Another Thing gives players one additional grenade charge. Unlike other exotics, this armor is easy to pair with any subclass, though it does shine brighter with specific ones.

A popular tactic with this item is to run suppressor grenades which will grant players double the power to take supers away from their enemies. It may not be exciting or flashy compared so some of the other exotics in the game, but it remains easy to recommend considering how valuable two grenades can be in most situations.

Arc Enhanced. Stat Values:

Mobility +6 Resilience +12 Recovery +7 Discipline +12 Intellect +6 Strength +6

Exotic Weapon

Coldheart is the exclusive weapon this week and fires a beam of coldfusion energy thanks to its exotic perk Cold Fusion. When combined with its other perk, called Longest Winter, the beam does increased damage the longer it remains on a target.

Trace rifles remain in the middle of the pack, meaning this weapon isn’t the strongest one out there. Even still, it’s fun to use and it retains plenty of value on both sides of the game. It’s capable of eating through boss characters and better yet, these weapons do 30% more damage to Titan barricades so there are worse options than energy trace rifles right now in PvP. For those that don’t have it, Coldheart is worth the shards this week.

Additional perks:

Extended Barrel Enhanced Battery Hand-Laid Stock
