Among the droves of teams who participate in these raids, which occur every three months according to the plan from studio Bungie, a particular group has been making waves in the gaming world of Destiny 2, stunning fans and rivals alike with their prowess. Clan Elysium is proving to be a juggernaut, breezing past any challenges that come their way in any raids. The team first came to light when they won their first World’s First Raid Race in the Vault of Glass reprisal in May 2021.

Clan Elysium’s Origins

The Vault of Glass Raid was coming off a series of changes, and unlike regular raid races, this challenge required fire teams to pass through the activity twice. In the first passage, teams went through the course with Contest Mode active. Contest Mode made every encounter and battle a bit more difficult, and several players struggled to complete this challenge. After conquering the Contest Mode, teams unlocked the Challenge Mode. The Challenge Mode gave teams a list of trials for each encounter which had to be completed before progressing to the next one.

Clan Elysium spent more than four hours on this task and won gold. The group spent a lot of that time on Atheon’s Challenges, as the final Raid Boss required several trials to be completed before the encounter could be finished successfully. These trials included the monstrous task of teleported players destroying only one oracle among a set of oracles spawned on Venus/Mars. Clan Elysium managed to complete their challenges before any other team and won the Vault of Glass, sharing their accolades with the original fireteam that won the Raid back in 2014.

Clan Elysium Makes History with Consecutive Wins

In March 2022, Clan Elysium won another World’s First Raid in the Vow of the Disciple Race, earning back-to-back wins as a team. Winning consecutive races was unprecedented, and Clan Elysium became the first back-to-back winner in Destiny 2. The road to victory for the team was not smooth sailing, as their journey was plagued by issues with connectivity. They were not alone in this, as several players got the dreaded Anteater Error Code. The problem got so bad that Bungie had to extend the Contest Mode by 24 hours to allow affected players an opportunity to finish the raid and earn The Cleaver emblem.

The victory came after an intense three-way battle between Elysium, Ascend, and Datto. Elysium only just edged out Datto’s squad by mere minutes. It took Clan Elysium - consisting of Saltagreppo, Quazz, Moople, Slap, Cruz, and Kyros - a total of seven hours and 14 minutes to finish, beating Datto’s team to the title by three minutes. The competition was more difficult than their previous success, as players’ power levels were significantly reduced. Players found themselves much weaker than the bosses they were assigned to defeat, making for chaotic battles all over the game. For Clan Elysium to rise to the top of the pile again, achieving consecutive wins in the process, spoke highly of their skill.

In August 2022, an old fan-favorite raid returned to the Destiny franchise after a five-year absence. King’s Fall, a popular raid in Destiny 1, underwent a lot of development to meet the new edition’s standard in Season 18 of Destiny 2, and teams were excited to explore it once more. There was a requirement for players to reach Power Level 1560 before they could participate in the King’s Fall Raid Race.

To make things interesting, Bungie decided to cap the Power Level at 1580 with a little twist. Despite the cap being at 1580, players who hit the mark would not be any stronger than those at 1560. There were a few differences between the King’s Fall Raids seen in Destiny 1 and Destiny 2. New tasks were added for players to accomplish throughout the Raid day, along with the Contest and Challenge Modes seen in other races in Destiny 2.

Again, Clan Elysium claimed the ultimate prize, emerging from Hive Dreadnaught as the first team to complete the raid. The team’s dominance was so complete that they won both the Contest and Challenge Modes. The victory was the team’s third successive World’s First title. The Clan got the Regicide Triumph for their win, and all members of this legendary squad got presented with yet another World’s First belt.

Aside from the personal rewards won by Clan Elysium, other players also benefited from their triumph. The Clan’s victory served to unlock the remaining fragments for the Arc 3.0 subclass, which saw fresh new updates added. These fragments are now available for purchase through Ikora Rey in the Tower. Considering the level of competition these raids usually have, the consistent achievement and dominance seen from Clan Elysium could quite possibly never be replicated again in the game, which makes their feats even more incredible.

Destiny 2 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
