The Leviathan’s Breath Catalyst does provide some benefit to the weapon. But deciding whether it’s worth going through the effort of obtaining it is a different story. Here’s everything you may need to know about the Leviathan’s Breath Catalyst and where to get it.
What It Does
The Leviathan’s Breath Catalyst offers a single perk for the bow
Colossal Quiver – Increase quiver size by five.
It’s a minor perk that lets the player use it longer before running out of ammo. By and large, it’s a quality of life perk to the weapon and doesn’t really enhance its power or DPS in any meaningful way. Still, for players maining this weapon, those five extra arrows are handy to have.
How To Find It
The Leviathan’s Breath Catalyst has a chance to drop whenever the player kills a powerful enemy. Powerful enemies are essentially anything with an orange or yellow bar.
There’s no indication that any specific powerful enemies will have a higher likelihood of dropping the Leviathan’s Breath Catalyst. It’s also unclear if there is any way to increase the odds of a drop as a result players may need some time grinding powerful enemies before it pops.
Upgrading
Once the player obtains the Leviathan’s Breath Catalyst they’ll want to upgrade it. This is a bit of a grind as players need to defeat 1,500 enemies using the Leviathan’s breath. Even mowing through low-level enemies is going to take a while.

Fortunately these kills can be retroactive, so if the player used the Leviathan’s Breath prior to upgrading those kills should count. PVE seems to be the best way to rack up these kills quickly.
Tips
It has been confirmed that killing high-tier Wrathborn during a Wrathborn Hunt will speed up the upgrading process. It’s advised players take the Leviathan’s Breath with them into Wrathborn Hunts to maximize efficiency.
It also seems that any Wrathborn kill using any weapon will count. Some players may opt for using a more efficient weapon to grind through the objective. This can be handy for players rounding out their collection who may not be interesting in actually using Leviathan’s Breath.
Perhaps the best powerful enemies to grind are the same guards players fought through to reach the Leviathan. They can be reset fairly quickly, are relatively easy to fight, and don’t take long to reach. Farming these enemies will require a fair bit of reloading which can be annoying for some players.
The last thing to consider is if the Leviathan’s Breath Catalyst is worth chasing down. The perk isn’t that advantageous in battle and is more of a luxury for bow mains. There are better weapons and better bows out there. Players might consider obtaining the Catalyst and then prioritize other things.
