In terms of Destiny 2, the raid has largely been left intact as players remembered, bringing back classic subbosses like Warpreist and Golgoroth in addition to the climactic final battle with Oryx. The final encounter plays out across multiple phases, as expected, preventing players from finding ways to down him immediately. However, one particular player got quite the surprise when Oryx seemingly broke his patterns and started appearing and acting fairly erratic.

The Destiny 2 video footage comes from a YouTuber named Mr Ex and does feature some profanity so viewer beware. In the gameplay footage from the King’s Fall raid, Mr Ex seemingly gets disconnected from the event as the first phase has ended. After loading back in, everything looks as it should, with the rest of the fire team taking down enemies during a midphase portion of the fight. However, it is at this point when things start to go sideways for Mr Ex.

As the next phase of the Oryx fight takes place, Mr Ex notices that giant feet have seemingly appeared in the middle of the map. Not only does his frame rate tumble, but the feet glitching through the map belong to Oryx, who then appears at the back of the arena through a wall. The fight proceeds as if everything is normal, though before long, Oryx starts to warp along the right side of the map until eventually appearing as expected at the very front.

Surprisingly, many of the comments seemed to indicate that this has been happening for a lot of people lately with some even saying that this is actually a legacy bug from the original Destiny which has seemingly made its way back into this new version. One comment even mentioned that that fourth King’s Fall encounter versus the Daughters of Oryx bugged out and removed the respawn penalty, allowing all players to revive as many times as they wanted instead of wiping back to the beginning.

Destiny 2 is now available for Epic Games Store, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Steam, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
