Last year, when the Last Wish raid came to Destiny 2: Forsaken, the final boss was considered no pushover. Riven of a Thousand Voices was one of the toughest and longest boss fights in the game, taking six-man Fireteams through several phases and floors before it could be defeated. But as time passed, and Guardians became stronger and more experienced, the Riven fight became what all Destiny 2 boss fights become eventually: a testing ground for skilled players.

After some time, Riven got taken down by just two players, then one player without Revelry Boost, but never solo on the first floor. That is a record now held by player CrspyChicken, who invested 56 hours into this challenge. They posted a video of the fight, where his hunter can be seen absolutely thrashing Riven, which will impress even the most skilled, veteran Guardians. All of that trial and error made CrspyChicken very good at this fight. The whole video plays out almost like an action movie and has to be seen in full to really do it justice.
In other Destiny 2 news, Bungie has a few changes in store for game’s next patch, including a nerf to a popular shotgun. When Tuesday’s patch drops, players will see the Lord of Wolves exotic shotgun nerfed. It has become a little too effective in Crucible since its perk was altered with Season of Opulence, so it will have its range reduced. Additionally, players will pick up less ammo when Release the Wolves is active. The patch will also make the latest Iron Banner quest a touch easier.
Along with the patch on Tuesday is the beginning of the Solstice of Heroes event, bringing lots of new content with it. There will be new armor sets, as well as two new, interesting sparrows to collect. The first is a teeny-tiny sparrow available from Eververse, and it looks like one of those children’s rides outside of a supermarket. A lot of Guardians will want this one, as it is unlike any other sparrow to date.
The second is a lot more stylish. The EV-37 Voidstreak sparrow, which has a stream of void energy on the sides, can be earned by unlocking the legendary version of each armor set across the three classes. This will be quite a challenge, but sparrow aficionados will definitely want to add it to their collection.
Destiny 2 is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One, with a Stadia version also in development.
