Grandmaster Nightfalls lock players into being underleveled by 25 power levels, they have limited revives that replenish on Champion kills, and they introduce a ton of modifiers that weigh the odds against the players. One modifier, Match Game, exists even at the lower levels of difficulty and is especially tough to deal with. Match Game makes it much harder for elemental weapons to break the elemental shields of various enemies if those weapons and shields are mismatched. If a player tries to take down an enemy with a solar shield while using an arc weapon, then they will most likely have to shoot many magazines-worth of bullets into the enemy before breaking it.

Now, Redditor u/Dizzynizzy has created an infographic for Destiny 2 players looking to take on Grandmaster Nightfalls. The infographic features a ton of information that is clearly conveyed to the reader. It shows the types of Champions featured in each Grandmaster Nightfall, as well as the types of shields in each one. As the game’s UI does not show the shield types that people can expect when going into these strikes, this infographic should prove invaluable. Additionally, the Redditor plans on implementing a new version of the graphic that details the number of each type of shielded enemy.

Bungie recently added UI tooltips of which shields to expect in Legendary Lost Sectors, but in doing so it left out Nightfalls. It seems like the logical next step, though, as there is no reason to bar the information from players looking to participate in the game’s pinnacle aspirational content. Meanwhile, the chart should be useful for anyone looking to grind out Conqueror titles or those who are farming weapons, Exotic Armor, and Ascendant Shards. Of note, The Inverted Spire, The Devil’s Lair, Proving Grounds, Lake of Shadows, and The Corrupted all feature all three elemental shield types, meaning players will have to coordinate with each other to make sure they have the loadouts they need to take those enemies on.

Bungie often puts the onus on the community to make things like this, which makes sense given that it is not its role to make community guides. But when it is something that could easily be solved with a tooltip as they have already done with other activities, it seems that it should step up and make the change in-game. Especially when, at the moment, there is a possibility that players who Alt-Tab out of the game could be seen as exploiting a game-breaking Destiny 2 bug.

Destiny 2 is out now on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
