The news comes directly from Destiny 2 community manager dmg04, who delivered the news via his Twitter account. After holding a meeting with the team to discuss feedback surrounding Enhancement Cores, the studio has decided to put together a plan to address this issue for future seasons. Unfortunately, no concrete details were provided in the Tweet, though players will likely find out more in Bungie’s weekly blog post tomorrow.
While Bungie has attempted to alleviate the resource scarcity in the past by making Enhancement Cores available for purchase from the NPC known as The Spider or completing random Scraper bounties, the heightened cost when infusing two items that are different types remains a barrier for many. It’s even caused some to develop Enhancement Core farming strategies that involve purchasing materials from various vendors and dismantling engrams purchased with Legendary Shards. Hopefully, with this new plan in place, players won’t be forced to resort to such tedious methods.
Community feedback has been an important tool for Bungie prior to Forsaken launching. Months before, the studio opened its doors to select members to playtest what would later become Gambit and offer their thoughts on Destiny 2 as a whole.
The event was so successful that Bungie is planning on holding another summit later this month to collect information before the final Annual Pass season begins. The reveal came courtesy of Gladd, a high profile Destiny 2 content creator and member of Clan Redeem, though he did not provide any additional details about the event itself.
Destiny 2: Season of the Drifter is live for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
