A new post from the official Bungie Support Twitter account revealed that the studio has disabled the Seeker of Brilliance perk on the popular Contender’s Ghost Shell. While Bungie did not provide a detailed reason why, Destiny 2 players have figured out that the perk is causing Eververse related engrams to spawn more often than likely intended.

For those who may not be aware, Seeker of Brilliance is an exclusive perk to the Contender’s Shell, an exotic Ghost Shell that can be awarded after completing the Leviathan or Eater of Worlds raid activities. The perk gives a chance that encounters in either raid may award Bright Engrams and increases the longer the player goes without getting one. Naturally, with a renewed focus on raid activities after Bungie removed raid farming limitations, this perk has become even more valuable.
The news isn’t sitting well with the community. Fans have continued to note that Bungie moves extremely fast to remove, fix, or disable parts of the game that appear to overly reward the player while other issues such as the increasing server disconnect issues remain unaffected. Players have cited the Forge AFK farming, Prophecy boss checkpoint farm, and the recent Master Nightfall strike farm as events that Bungie shut down extremely fast.
One exploit that may also be getting patched sooner than later is a new trick that players have discovered while fighting the Ahamkara dragon known as Riven. Inside of the final encounter of the Last Wish raid, Destiny 2 player Esoterickk managed to solo the final Riven encounter by using a finisher melee move on the Taken enemies before the Fate’s Chosen negative buff can take effect. This teleports the player outside of Riven’s heart and resets the timer. Doing this on repeat allows a solo player to carry it out by themselves rather than the intended functionality of passing it to a teammate.
Destiny 2 is available now for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
