Lightfall will bring numerous quality-of-life features to Destiny 2, but many players won’t be focusing on the mechanics. Rather, fans have been clamoring to get their hands on the new content coming to the Destiny saga. Fortunately, Bungie developer Joe Blackburn has shared information about the upcoming expansion that sheds new light on the enemies that players will be facing.

Destiny 2’s extreme bosses and powerful enemies, especially in raids, have become a staple of the title’s gameplay. As such, players have been expecting something visually and technically unique to grace the Destiny 2 storyline, and it seems as though the Tormentors will not disappoint. The Tormentors are giant beings that carry melee weapons and are evocative of the Vow of the Disciple raid. The creatures have protruding appendages, long arms and legs, and wield immense power.
Indeed, Blackburn stated that the Tormentors will be even stronger than the Hive Guardians from the Witch Queen expansion. The Hive Guardians used the abilities of The Traveler to defeat guardians, and they were incredibly powerful, especially for solo players. The Tormentors in Lightfall will reportedly plague gamers as they fight through the DLC, and will become challenging even for full fireteams to defeat. Players will need to take advantage of Destiny 2: Lightfall’s exotic weapons, as well as new subclasses and gear, in order to destroy The Witness’ prominent forces.
Indeed, the new Strand subclass in Destiny 2 should allow fans to experience the title like never before. While it is unclear how the power will impact the game, players can hope that Bungie learned from issues with Stasis and won’t be releasing the class in a problematic state. Not matter what happens, however, the new Lightfall content will change the landscape of Destiny and bring fans one step closer to the conclusion of the Light and Darkness saga, The Final Shape.
Destiny 2 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
