The tweet came from Brendan Thorne, a senior game designer who works on Destiny 2’s raids. He responded to a tweet from a fan suggesting that Bungie should allow players to see behind some of the locked doors within the Leviathan raid, to which Thorne responded, “Funny you should say that.”

That’s significant because when Destiny 2’s first expansion, Curse of Osiris, was announced and detailed just a few weeks ago, publisher Activision told fans they could expect “new raid content” in Curse of Osiris. Both Bungie and Activision have been careful not to say that the DLC will add an entirely new raid to the game, which has left fans theorizing what exactly “new raid content” means.

One popular theory has been that if Bungie is not ready to add in an entirely new raid with a new location, enemies, and bosses, a possibility would be to somehow expand the existing Leviathan raid. Based on this tease from Thorne, it is looking like that could very well be the direction Bungie will take with this content.

Bungie is almost sure to address that content more during one of its streams this month, which will detail more about the upcoming Curse of Osiris expansion. Whatever the new raid content ends up being, it’s unlikely to be available right at launch considering that the level and power caps will both be increased with the release of Curse of Osiris. Based on the history of Destiny, it would likely release three days to a week after the launch of Curse of Osiris on December 5, 2017.

Destiny 2 is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
