Hinting at the changes on Twitter, Game Director Christopher Barrett replied to fans who wanted additional armor Masterworks, as well as an upgraded mod system, making many Destiny 2 players believe that the features may be in development right now. The current mods that are present in the MMO-inspired shooter might prove useful to those looking to raise their level, but there’s no doubt that fans would prefer the system to become more streamlined and in-depth than it is already.
A Masterworks option for armor sets would also be a popular addition to the game, given that the new variation of weapons have been praised by the Destiny 2 fan-base since they launched. The special weapon class is a legendary drop that is only available to those players that have surpassed power level 250, and offers additional stat increases over the item’s base legendary form.
Masterwork weapons also keep track of how many kills a user has racked up with that weapon, and offer players orbs for getting multi-kills with the item equipped. It’s hard to imagine what Masterwork armor could offer as a bonus to its owner but, if Barrett’s cryptic hint is anything to go off, we likely won’t have to wait too long to find out.
Now that we’re entering the holiday season, Destiny 2 is ready to join the celebration with the return of The Dawning event, complete with a festive celebration in The Farm. Beginning next Tuesday, players will be able to take part in snowball fights, achieve new milestones, and earn even more points than usual from the game’s matchmaking, meaning that the game will likely see a little more activity as we approach the end of the year.
Destiny 2 is out now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
