First and foremost, starting September 17 all Eververse armor that players own will be converted into Universal Ornaments. The Ornaments can be skinned onto any Legendary Armor acquired after September 17, allowing players to visually customize their armor without the need to worry about stats changing. It’s something Guardians have been begging for and Bungie is soon going to be able to deliver it later this year.

A smaller, but perhaps equally significant change is that all Eververse items unlocked in a player’s Collections will no longer require Bright Dust to create. Instead, players can craft items like Sparrows, Shaders, and Ghost Shells with Legendary Shards and Glimmer. This means that all Guardians should dismantle their unused Eververse items prior to September 17 to accumulate as much Bright Dust as possible.

Speaking of Bright Dust, Bungie has plans for that too. According to director Luke Smith, Bungie wants Bright Dusty to go from a “pay-and/or-play-to-earn” currency to a strictly “play-to-earn-reward.” Bright Dust will be earned through completing Vanguard, Crucible, and Gambit bounties, with another unspecified option to keep earning Bright Dust after all bounties have been completed.

All things considered, the Eververse store itself isn’t changing based on today’s news, though some big changes have already been made as part of the Season of Opulence. Players now have the ability to purchase the armor sets directly with Silver, as well as a few items each week. However, once Shadowkeep releases, Bungie should hopefully be making it easier for players to get some of that loot without paying real money for it. And it’s also getting simpler to collect and equip those premium items without worrying about spending more money.

Destiny 2 is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. The Shadowkeep expansion releases on all platforms starting September 17.
