The comic can be read here, one panel at a time as the story unfolds, with Part 2 focusing on the conflict between Osiris and the Speaker. Even before Destiny 2, the first game left clues about the tension between these two characters ultimately leading to the Speaker banishing Osiris from the Last City and the order of Guardians.
That is exactly the story told in this second part. After the Guardians and the citizens of the City debate about Osiris’s research into the Vex and the growth of his cult, tensions rise to a fever pitch. Infighting between the Guardians becomes a reality, and the Speaker finally banishes Osiris.
Despite Osiris’ greatest student Ikora giving a riveting speech in support of her teacher the sentiment shifts against the Warlock. But before the Speaker can actually cast a verdict of banishment, Osiris appears and voluntarily leaves the Last City.
At the end of the comic, it is revealed who Ikora, the story’s narrator, is addressing throughout the first two comics: Osiris’s Ghost, Sagira. The comic ends with this revelation and a cryptic “The End?” message, which surely means more editions of the Fall of Osiris comic will be coming in the future.
This comic has been a great way to add lore to the universe outside of the game, especially with the absence of the Grimoire in Destiny 2. Game director Chris Barrett recently stressed to fans the importance of the franchise’s lore, so hopefully, fans will continue to get a steady stream of story and lore both in and out of the game itself.
Destiny 2 and the Curse of Osiris expansion are available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
