An Ahamkara (Wish Dragon) only heard of in Destiny lore up until that point, Riven of a Thousand Voices was a formidable foe for fireteams. The Last Wish raid took over 18 hours to complete when it first launched, with many teams spending hours on the final fight with Riven. She was huge, but the mechanics of her fight were also complex.

To help give Destiny 2 players a sense of just how massive Riven is, community member Ginsor shared some in-game models of the Ahamkara alongside familiar icons from within the game. It’s never really clear how large Riven is during the Last Wish raid because a lot of her form is obscured behind a “curtain” or it’s wrapped around a giant pillar.
The first image shows that Riven is so large that Guardians are only as big as a small portion of her mouth. The Last Wish raid boss likely wouldn’t even need to chew a single Guardian in order to eat them, and she could probably consume a whole fire team with one aggressive chomp.
Any who have gone through Last Wish know that Guardians can fit inside Riven’s mouth because that is actually one of the encounters in the raid. After defeating the Ahamkara, the fireteam must quickly run into her mouth and travel deep inside her to destroy her heart. The fireteam then takes Riven’s heart out of her body and transports it to be cleansed by the Techeuns (Tech Witches) that they previously freed during earlier encounters in the raid.
But while Riven is massive, another set of comparison images shows just how much she pales in comparison to The Traveler. At scale, Riven is little more than a speck on The Traveler and it’s almost difficult to notice her up against the sphere’s surface.
Destiny players have never really had the opportunity to gauge the size of The Traveler because it is always at a distance. Seeing it from the Tower, The Traveler is obviously a giant ball, but just how giant was hard for Bungie to communicate. Now, thanks to Riven, players know just how small their Guardians are when compared to The Traveler.
Destiny 2 is available now for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
