Developer Bungie did not disclose exactly which catalysts will appear in Season 6, but said “a few” would be released over the course of the Season of the Drifter. For those wondering when and which catalysts will be available, Bungie said that information will be shared in future patch notes during next season.

These exotic catalysts were available in Year 1:

D. A. R. C. I. Sniper Rifle Crimson Hand Cannon Borealis Sniper Rifle Tractor Cannon Shotgun Prometheus Lens Trace Rifle Coldheart Trace Rifle Wardcliff Coil Rocket Launcher Merciless Fusion Rifle Riskrunner Submachine Gun The Colony Grenade Launcher Vigilance Wing Pulse Rifle Jade Rabbit Scout Rifle MIDA Multi-Tool Scout Rifle Huckleberry Submachine Gun Skyburner’s Oath Worldline Zero Graviton Lance Pulse Rifle Sweet Business Auto Rifle Sunshot Hand Cannon

That’s a hearty list of catalysts, but fans will have to wait to see exactly which catalysts will make their way back in the coming months. As for the mechanic being added to the game to give players a higher chance at getting catalysts (and not just the ones returning from Year 1), the tier 5 perk reward on clan banners in Season 6 will increase the drop rate of Crucible and Strike catalysts when playing with clanmates.

Catalysts were added in the Warmind expansion to give players something new to chase while they awaited random rolls in the Forsaken expansion. Catalysts are specifically for exotic weapons, with them buffing stats or even adding an extra perk to those specially-selected exotics, making some of those exotics the most powerful weapons in the game.

Destiny 2 is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
