The PC version of Destiny 2 will also have its own beta, which will be available in late August. The release date for the PC version of the game was also just revealed to be October 24, 2017—more than a month after the (newly announced) console release on September 6.

As for what the Destiny 2 Beta will contain, Bungie’s Mark Noseworthy and Luke Smith told Geoff Keighley what players can expect.

Noseworthy said the Beta’s main purpose is to test the backend systems behind Destiny 2 to “make sure the game is going to run well when it comes out,” but Bungie is focused on delivering the “E3 experience” to all players. That means, that in the beta players will be able to go hands-on with:

Homecoming Story Mission Inverted Spire Strike PvP Six subclasses including all three of the new subclasses—Dawnblade, Arcstrider, and Sentinel

In addition, the developers teased that there would be additional content that gamers haven’t seen yet, and even a few surprises to be saved for the beta itself. Bungie is looking to let players get their hands on everything they have seen from the Destiny 2 Reveal Event to E3 to more that hasn’t been shown yet.

Destiny 2 will launch September 6, 2017 on PS4 and Xbox One, with a release on PC October 24, 2017.
